I agree. It seems so simple. I think I can understand what he does on an intellectual level - his thing is keeping a bassline going, play chord fragments to outline the progression, and throw in fills and melodies. But trying to even pull of a super-simplified version of this and keep the groove going is really difficult, not to mention singing at the same time. I think he's easily one of the most unique, incredible guitar players in the world. I don't want to say "best" because everyone has their own likes and dislikes, but he's my favorite.

Blake is a consistently brilliant musician, performer, interpreter and songwriter. As a guitar player I aspire to someday be able to express myself 1/10 as beautifully and eloquently as he does with his understated, soulful playing. I can listen to this (and most of his performances) on repeat and not get tired of it.

I really believe music shouldn't be processed as much as it is these days, it becomes so sterile, this is music to me
@MikleShnikle
@MikleShnikle 7 жыл бұрын
the vocals are really compressed my dude
@48956l
@48956l 4 жыл бұрын
How do you define "processed"? Because what you're hearing are vibrations of strings amplified and distorted at the signal level, recorded and translated into a sampled binary signal, compressed using an algorithm, combined with video, uploaded to youtube (meaning compressed *again* with Google's algorithm), stored for years, and upon playing it, decompressed into an imperfect waveform representation of the original recording, sent as electrical signals to your speakers that vibrate the air, which your ears pick up. That's actually MORE processing than an EDM track that is originally created on a computer.

Konstantin Purschke that's called a tap harmonic. Basically you fret a note and then you "tap" the string 12 frets higher than that note, creating a harmonic. Hope this helps!
