I work as a correctional officer and a lot of times on the patrol truck we listen to the radio, this song has come on a few times while I was on patrol and I've blasted it so all the prisoners could hear it. It is actually a pretty cool feeling

This is the music from my teenage years through my early twenties. So many memories good and bad, but the best times in my life and the early 90's. I am just so grateful that I was present during that era and got to experience a way of life (a simple life) that will never be experienced by anyone again. Times will never be like they were which is very unfortunate for young people. Shoot no more cruise, no more keggers, hardly any more dances even, its sad. I guess tik tok, twitter and snapchat is their fun these days. yuk.

cant believe blake shelton came to my city back in september 2022 for a concert, sadly had to work because we were short staff at the hotel because of his concert. would have loved to see him in person, my mom also loves his music, didnt get off work until 6pm, thats how busy and short staff we were and the hotel was booked for the concert too. footloose is one of my fav songs

Yes , originals are usually much better and its not like Blake's is Bad , but Kenny don't get around much anymore and Blake is bringin' it forward , so a new Generation can hear it by with a present day star's influence from his past ! I mean , tribute Bands , if they are good and there are some that are phenomenal & others that suck. Especially if trying to make it sound like their own , and fail miserably. Pink Floyd , Moody Blues , Jethro Tull and YES , don't they dare change anything , you cannot make a song any better then those guys did to begin with, then there are those that many covers get made of , cause however you play it ,it's still R&R to me !

the only problem i got with footloose is the town prohibited dancing, but they all dance like they are professionals that practice 6 days a week !!

Fastest way to get a teenager to do something - tell them they aren't allowed to. Forget assigning books - just ban the books on the reading list. The whole class will be quoting it within a month. Ban dancing, get professional dancers.

I like the original song and I have the movie footloose and grew up watch all my life. But Blake Shelton made it sound different. I was always the purist type; still haven't seen the remake. My aunt; my mother's step sister is in her early 20's, claimed the remake so awesome because she knew somebody that got a role in the film. I being a guy born in 1980 will always be faithful to the Kevin Bacon version; that being said I've become a recent country convert starting back in the spring of 2013 and this version of the song has grown on me tremendously; I think it's because Blake Shelton articulates the lyrics better than Kenny Loggins did.
