This was their masterpiece wasn't it? The first note grabs you and the song sweeps you along as you breathlessly try and keep up. Neil's going insane and he's taking you with him right to the end of the song and there's nothin you can do about it. Magnificent.

Havent heard this in 30 years?? When I lost the London cassette I bought in 84. It was difficult to replace. It was rare allready. Day Before You Came, Blind Vision and Dont Tell Me. Easy. But this one? Ha! Hows that for 80's nu wave dance. tx. Not bad, I remembered the chords. But not the lyrics I knew by heart then. lol

I'd forgotten about this song. All of a sudden it popped up into my head. Brings me back to my college days. Chicago. It was very early 80s. They used to play this at Neo's on N Clark St (anyone remember that place? I hear it's closed now). Also Berlin (W Belmont) went it was just a narrow strip of bar. Cabaret Metro now renamed Metro. I even remember my favorite drink back then - Myers dark, Coke and a twist of lime. Ah, those were the days.

in: LyricWiki Blancmange:That's Love That It Is Table of Contents That's Love That It Is This song is by Blancmange and appears on the album Mange Tout (1984). Yeah, that's love that it is Umm, that's love that it is When you come rushing into my heart When you com running out of the fire It must be love that it is Yeah, that's love that it is I think I'm the only one that's got an idea And I come running full of desire And that's love that it is And you call me, and that's love, and that's love that it is And call me And that And that And that That, that, that, that's love that is And then you fall into my arms and I fell for all your charms And I'm sure I'm the only one that cares And I've got this idea I'm a foreign correspondent And I hear the lines are all engaged So it came of no surprise, I sent a letter home But you live so far away from me No matter what I do I just can't see Shame on me for it makes no sense But that's love, love, love, love, love that it is Scream to extreme, I'll do anything for you Black and white, and then you turn me black and blue High and low, rough with the smooth, night and day And you turn my pleasure to pain I've got a tongue tied message, all I want is you A black eyed reply, clearly made me blue I'm wishing on a wishbone that you weren't there I might as well rock on, you just don't care I fight a losing battle, all I want is you Thinking one day might make it clear You come laughing, full of desire And you call me to your side And you haul out all my pride And I see your changing points of view Ain't no surprise that it's love that is And that's love that it is And you call me, and that's love, and that's love that it is And call me And that And that And that That, that, that, that's love that is And then you fall into my arms And that's love that is And I fell for all your charms And that's love that is And that's love that is

This piece gets my top rating: (12+ -- Full thrust!). Blancmange has a lot of those, and so do Split Enz, Romeo Void, The Moody Blues, The Police, The Hollies, The Dave Clark Five and a whole bunch more, but not really very many bands get a lot of them. These guys produced phookin' killer music, man! In fact, THE DAY BEFORE YOU CAME is a piece you absolutely need when you fall in love so that you don't phook it up. Unfortunately, their video of that fantastic piece is WAY off of my mental image of it that was gotten from the lyrics. I have it that some guy is living a lonely life and constantly realizes it by daily riding a phookin' train to and from work (that means he lives a long ways away and thus wastes a whole bunch of his pathetic life) and is just plain pathetic until some perfect babe for him shows up. They didn't mess up this video, though. I don't think I had any mental image from the lyrics, but I do now and like it. It fits. Top, man!
