Hi There,
Welcome to the Upcycle Design Lab. I like to craft with recycled, repurposed, and unwanted materials. If you enjoy reusing repairing and re-imagining old items, I hope you will stick around and check out some of my other Upcycling tutorials.
In this video, I am sharing some tips I have on sewing with a blanket stitch. Blanket stitching is fun and it provides a pretty edge finish to many projects both fabric and paper. If you like sewing by hand then you will want to add this stitch to your skillset and these tips will help you make a perfect stitch every time.

This is by far the BEST video on how to change color threads and even if you were using the same thread color. I have been watching so many other videos on when you run out of thread and have to start again. Finally I have found one that looks perfect when you do this, and then end your finished project. OMG, I watched the same 2 dozen videos that you must have watched in which this was done in a totally different way than what I wanted to learn. I've been embroidering for many years but hadn't needed to embroider 2 sheets of felt together to make ornaments. Your excellent video showed all the steps I needed in one convenient place. Hi Julie, thanks for your question. I used painters tape that I cut with a rotary cutter and then marked with a white gel pen. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching. 🙂
