Oh I just noticed, Starlight's dad focuses mostly on the past while Sunburst's mom focuses mostly on the future. That's actually a nice touch. The episode was pretty good overall, though honestly no episode from this season was mindblowing in any way so far.

I liked the episode, not as good as the last two, but better than the three before that. When it comes to the map, I think people are forgetting the map is connected to the tree, the same tree that Twilight said is connected to all of Equestria, so why wouldn't it call other ponies/creatures?

UNPOPULAR OPINION TIME: I actually really like the concept that the Map doesn't descriminate on who it calls to solve a Friendship Problem. That opens the door to so many other minor characters taking center stage and given a chance to develop even more. Think about it, Shining Armor and Cadence sent to help arguing couple and developing their own relationship more. ANY of the Student Six sent to solve a problem and learning more about the other races. One-Shot Characters making a return as the hero of their own story. There is a lot of opportunities for fun stories and interesting world building by having the Map be able to call anyone! Plus, I really want an episode where a random-ass pony we've never seen before suddenly get a glowing butt and have no idea what the frick is going on.

I'm not blaming Starlight's dad but he may play a part in preventing her from meeting new friends after Sunburst left by the way he won't let her talk to strangers. She was very sheltered, that's why she developed a goth phase and eventually rebelled and left home to do evil stuff. I really like how he noticed how she was hurting when she left home because even when the world hates her, he still loved his daughter. Similar to Sunburst's mom noticing how Sunburst was pretty embarrassed for failing his parent's expectation for him to succeed in magic school because he was hesitant about sharing his failures to Starlight when he met her again. That's why I love Starlight and Sunburst, and probably Trixie, characters, they are all imperfect characters on their own so they're lucky to have met the princess of friendship to help them gain friendships and become better individuals. Now they work together in a school, yay, I wanna work with my friends too.

Hope Sunburst's cloak contains the same materials as in the eyeglass cleaning cloths after he got sprayed with "essence of chocolate".

Actual mail carrier here. We normally don't get tips. We do get an offer of a bottle of water on hot days. However, when it's the Christmas season, we do get tipped money. If you factor in how many houses we hit in a day, we can make more than a $100.

The first time I watched this episode I was so distracted on the fact that Starlight’s father’s voice sounded SO FAMILIAR it drove me crazy!! Once I looked it up, I saw his VA is the same as Justin from Total Drama. I loved that character in TDA, I couldn’t believe it slipped from my mind.

The animosity among Starlight and Sunburst's respective parents feels similar to Rainbow and her folks in "Parental Glideance." They can't stand their respective parents, but they should also know they can be in the wrong themselves too.
