Girl get your coin. We understand. Of course a lot of people, including myself miss the old KZfaq when ads and marketing wasn’t as present, but that’s not where we’re at anymore. As long as people are honest and open about it, I don’t see an issue. On top of this platform being a creative outlet for many people, it’s also a job. 💛

I keep saying I dont understand the distain for PR and affiliate links. Ive seen it with other videos outside of fragrance community. I don't know how people think creators should be compensated for the time, money the put into content creating. I just dont get what's so upsetting about it. Maybe because the people i following are upstanding and outstanding. 💞

In general people will always have an issue with ppl making money while living out their dreams because of jealousy. Especially in the fragrance space given how expensive fragrances are. There are bad apples that mess up the perception for everyone but most will not understand the necessity and ethics behind affiliates and brand partnerships until they’re running a business of their own 💛

I love hearing your perspective and that’s definitely a great lens to use for this conversation 🫶🏽✨ It’s unfortunate that sometimes ego, jealousy or lack of resources causes people to feel like they have to project their negative emotions on others. I am living my dream of being home with my children and being a free creative. I’ve always wanted to create and be my own boss and fortunately, content creation has become a love for me. I’m just blessed to have supporters like you keeping me encouraged and that lets me know that I’m in my purpose 🥹

Yesss to the wig sponsorship 👏🏽😉 I think you do a great job as a content creator. As long as I’ve been watching your reviews I feel like you’ve been honest with your reviews. Now this whole PR thing. Of course as a content creator getting PR is really nice. It’s nice to know brands recognize you. However, it takes so much time, effort and energy to create content to even get recognized. Not to mention how much money we spend on fragrances before we even get one free bottle of perfume. And let’s be clear a free bottle of perfume is not paying any bills 😂 I’ve always supported influencers that I like by using their codes which is another way I support the ppl I like. It’s not only giving me a discount but also putting money I theirs so it’s a win win to me. 😉

Loved this video ✨ Nice switch up with the content. The hair came out really nice!! I’m natural n I’ve been wanting to try clip ins or a wig with this type of texture. Thank you for putting this company on my radar. Now chiiillleee please with the links. If it’s made known it’s a commissionable link I think it’s fine. And like you said you can tell when ppl are just pushing a product versus when it’s genuine. So use your own discernment. N if you like the item but don’t want them to get the credit then don’t use the link. It’s simple stop with the think pieces there are real issues going on in the world!! Can’t wait to see what looks you bring us next 💛

Claire had good points, you and other creators have good points. I enjoy the conversation. But the NUMBER ONE point that’s come out of this dialogue for me: TRY BEFORE YOU BUY. Preferences are personal and subjective, and, as with any kind of entertainment or marketing content, it’s up to the consumer to not get caught up in hype, keep their cool, watch their coins, slow down. We have to remember that no creator can EVER know every single person’s tastes and preferences and collections. So at most, when Sharida is freaking out about the latest $400 bottle… just try to get a sample, don’t go blind-buying a bottle if you can’t afford to hate it and donate or re-sell it at a loss!! And I think she and other creators are trying to say this more: I’ve noticed them saying more, “You’ll want to *get your nose on this* / sample this,” instead of “YOU NEED THIS, BUY IT NOW!”

Yes yes yes!! What I will say is that the algorithm and what KZfaq pushes out is “top” videos and “must have” content so, we have to title our videos like that as well. So, as a viewer, I can understand how things can see misleading. But all in all, definitely try before you buy unless your disposable income is huge lol

@@ZhaneAntionetteyeah I realized early on with these “best of” videos: how do I know every fragrance this creator has? How can they say X is the “best vanilla” when they might not have tried Y? And as you said, tastes and releases and moods are ever changing, so these “best of” videos could be out of date from one day to the next. It’s a shame to be so dependent on the algorithm. That’s why I think these discussions can be so helpful for audiences, to clear up the “behind-the-scenes” workings of KZfaq and explain that it’s not a deceptive money-grab, but it’s survival. I ultimately think, however, that if creators are creating content that we are happily consuming, there has to be SOME method of compensation, or a lot of creators wouldn’t do it (work for free). Content (reviews, declutters, lists) IS important and useful to us, in that it is entertaining, it introduces enthusiasts to new fragrances and houses, and it spreads general fragrance knowledge. So I’m grateful for y’all!

I don't have issue with PR or links but the moment the creator benefits from the sale objectivity is not there as the sale is dependent on positive review. I just keep that in mind. I still benefit from these reviews as I can't try these many perfumes on my own.

I’ll have to agree to disagree with you on this one. Like I said in the video, there are bad apples everywhere. The bad apples will allow money to skew their judgement and eventually everything will be good to them in order to not offend brands. I can only speak for myself and that’s not the case for me. I’ve turned down thousands of dollars from brands (including large brands who could change my life financially) because I’m not a fan of their morals, values or fragrances in general. I say all of that to say, you’re safe over here. 🫶🏽✨

Hey beauty!! I watched your entire video before I chimed in. I love your content. I dont mind my fav influencers receiving P.R and having affiliate links. I use all of my fav's affiliate links when I can..I use them in a rotating order so that im not constantly using the same influencer's links over and over..Also, I have purchased my fav influencer's products when they have released them, not all but I have at least purchased a first release from each. Thats just me showing genuine support, initally. I have some lessons learned from doing all of this, so now I have had to develop discernment and wisdom on my end to not hop on every release/band wagon. The thing is us the audience/consumers have to have discipline and discernment to not easily be influenced into purchasing everything that is shown to us. Also, the discernment to know when who we are watching isnt being truthful in their review of a product/s or truthful in other ways. What I am simply saying is that I personally am not blaming some influencers for how they are chosing to make a living, I am now smarter on my end to not fall for it anymore. Also, 💛

Hi Zhane, 💛 I have to say I agree with you on one using their discernment on whether their faves are being genuine in their opinions/reviews, that’s it really. Another thing is sometimes these companies for example, this hair unit looks perfect only to use your code and get opposite of what you’re displaying here, it’s understandable when people feel disconnected with the creator because of that, but like you said you partner with companies you trust, that helps, because some companies are dodgy.

I think it’s awesome if you evolved to be an affiliate. You worked hard for it. As long as the creator is still honest about the product then it’s fine. And you’ve always been honest so you’re good. There’s some that aren’t and they push a specific fragrance. I know of one that pushes Salt and Pepper all the time. lol

I can only tell you I unsubscribed from that channel that put out the negative video on fragrance content creators. I did so immediately after watching that video when it came out. A man routine. I do not shave me in the morning, I shave me at the time I like before midnight. Face, and the rest. I shower mostly with Rituals Hammam or Sakura foam, water. And there is the hashtack#1 Mono, like the old very oalded oal wood scheme of a forgotten scent of the old an lonely Grind. Mazzolari Lui. The perfection of imperfection in a man! Have you spend two days in bed, alone? Aqua di Parma is the answer, after such a....lonelymess!

Translate text with your camera I don't have a problem with anyone receiving PR, as long as the opinion and review is not influenced. To be honest, when I feel that someone is no longer authentic, I don't waste my energy every time throwing mud... I might express my opinion once saying that it is no longer authentic and then I leave the channel, I I unsubscribe... In general, I don't even give this comment, but simply leave the channel. Why should I be negative and take my anger out on someone else? KZfaq is full of such channels, I can always find people with content I resonate with. So, I say do what you know you have to do and don't burden yourself negatively with everyone's frustrations.

I’m not sure how I can do that but, I’ll look into it. And that’s exactly what I mean by using your discernment and intuition. You can tell whenever someone is being genuine or when it’s just marketing after watching someone long enough. I think the best thing that you can do is exactly what you’re doing 🫶🏽✨
