Good trick is to buy 99% rubbing alcohol. Get a spray bottle and spray the night before it snows or ice. ACE Hardware sells a huge bottle for $25 which will last the entire winter. I'm a limo driver in Colorado and is the best solution I've found. Hope this helps anyone who is struggling with Winter.

I use 90% rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle on my windshields in winter, works better than the stuff you buy in spray can.

Good way to get rid off the ice on your windshield. BUT alcohol destroys the protective layer on your car, like wax or w/e you use. And it will come in contact with your actual car rather than just the windshield. But I agree, alcohol and water-mix is way better for de-icing.

@@betsybarnicle8016 IMO just make sure to allow for a place for it to "drip dry" if when you take it off there is any remaining snow/ice left on it. I'd also recommend making sure to keep it tight/snug against the glass. I've had mine be a bit loose and the Wind will catch it and the Glass gets covered/iced anyway. Sure it's less but still... A worthwhile gift or investment if your vehicle will be spending a lot of Winter in the Elements.

You could just get the screen wash with antifreeze mixed into it. Wipe the snow of sit in the car, turn the heater on and sit back pressing the screen wash button every so often.
