You know what's funny? Ragna and Dante both have white hair and red longcoats, and Ragna's theme is called Rebellion, which is the name of Dante's sword.

@Ndusk Ragna is NOWHERE near as emo as Cloud, despite having a far more tragic backstory. @If you only Knew the power of the Dark Side In terms of fighting style, yeah. But he lacks Dante's charm, and Sol's years of experience (then again, a plus for Ragna is that he's nowhere near as lazy as Sol is).

I dunno if I agree with your opinion... But I do think it's the perfect theme for Ragna. It just screams "tough, rebellious protagonist extraordinaire coming through"... Honestly, one day I'm gonna seek out one of my nerdier friends I haven't been in touch with for a pretty long time and if he hasn't already played BlazBlue, Imma sit down with him and play the full OST and have him guess what kinda characters the BlazBlue cast is like based on their themes alone.

Ragna was based off of Sol Badguy, They are literally almost similar, Spikey hair, huge amounts of power, tough on the outside but a softie on the inside, foul mouths, and huge weapons. Also created by the same company Quit your weeb shit

Keya Aghaei Because he is pissed at Terumi for destroying his childhood. Then he was raised by a cat that beat the crap out him constantly and a vampire who would insult him non-stop. He keeps people away because of his Azure, which would suck their souls if he wasn't careful. Over the course of the story, he gains more control over the Azure and begins to open up and be nicer to people. He kept people away because they would be in danger If they were with him.

Maybe there's some influence from Dante there but given how often ASW staff have said they enjoy Trigun I'd hazard a guess they were equally influenced by Vash tbh. Blazeblue over the years has seen many influences from various creations in both the manga and anime worlds though, so...

The Bloodedge is mostly a title rather than Ragna's full name. He got the title from a unsung hero know as The Bloodedge that made the Black Beast dormant for an entire year, costing his life.
