Reviewing the Blazevideo A280W trail camera. Should you consider buying it? My own thoughts from my own testing.
Please Note...
My testing was done with the side sensors turned on and with the sensors set to medium. This is the level I always set my trail cameras to reduce the false triggering's caused by wind blowing trees and grass. Setting the sensor to high will result in faster triggering times.
If you would like to see more about this trail camera and possibly buy one, here's a couple of links to the product:
(Please note these are affiliate links so if you buy from them I will receive a very small commission. If you can find the product cheaper elsewhere then please buy it from there👍🏻 Cheers)

Thanks mate. I always give my honest thoughts. I think that's how reviews should be done. I could have set the sensor to high and set the camera up with no grass or anything else around it, etc to make the ideal situation and get the fastest triggering speeds this camera is capable of. But they are not the settings I use and in the real world you don't always get perfect locations to set up in. Thanks for checking out the video and for taking the time to drop a comment 👍🏻

Looks good! I’ve never used a trail camera but I think it would be good to see what lurks around my hut at night. Thanks for a great review.

Too easy. Yeah I always find in surprising to see what is in the area and moving around and also by having the camera set in place for a number of days or weeks you can work out the patterns of animals by noting the times.

Yep too long since I have been out in the bush. It is 3:15am as I write this comment and in just over 1 1/2hrs from now I will be doing a solo hike in the dark to a secret series of waterfalls I haven't been to in over 20 years. I want to arrive there in time to fly the drone at first light and make a coffee and relax in the bush before the arrival of our baby boy in 2 weeks.

Very interesting. Thanks for the informative video. Loved hearing the kookaburra in the background. I miss Australia! 🥲

Thanks for watching and taking the time to drop a comment. A lot of the time when I'm filming I am unaware of bird noises around me. Except when half a dozen Kookaburra start up in a tree a few meters from when I'm sitting. Or a few Sulphur Crested Cockatoos fly straight over me screeching their heads off. Where are you now that you miss Australia?

@@RobsBushcraftandAdventures I'm in Arizona. Lived in Sydney for a few years. You're right about the cockatoos; they're incredibly loud. Had a few fly over my house one day, and ran outside to see what the commotion was about. No "commotion," they were just being silly. Thanks, again for your video. Been looking at trail cams for security reasons, and had no idea what to look for. You really made it look easy, and gave me a good starting point.

@@CactusGal If you're looking for a trail cam for security then you 100% need to get a no glow trail cam so univited guests have no idea they are on camera. A cable lock so the device can't be stolen and a padlock so the memory card can't be taken out of it.

@@RobsBushcraftandAdventures Thank you so much! I was wondering how I could keep them from being stolen. I really appreciate your solution!

I was thinking of getting one of these but then i read this in the user manual:": Night videos are limited to a maximum of 30 seconds to conserve the batteries." I don't want this limitation. I wonder how the camera defines "Night vision". Is it based on the time of day or based on ambient light? Either way it seems like an arbitrary limitation to impose without the option to remove that limitation.

That is 30 seconds per recorded clip. Then it stops for a second or greater length if you set that and then will start recording again when it detects movement again. So if an animal walks in front of it and starts feeding it might record for 30 seconds or whatever you set it to and then stop. If the animal is still in front of it feeding it will start recording again. The night mode (no glow lights) are determined by available light.
