To explain his Bankai, It is an AOE Bankai that forces the victim to partake in a “tragic play” which will end in their s and Shunsui’s death. Due to being an AOE technique, this Bankai can only be used when no allies are anywhere near.

@@ryujin8842 It performs 4 actions, each based on play of a man that is killed by his lover after he betrays her twice in four Acts. It affects SHunsui and anyone caught in its range. The first act shares their wounds The second act gives them painful boils on their body. The third act drowns both in a dark ocean The final act slits the victim’s throat and decapitates the victim

What makes him so amazing in my opinion is that he is so ungodly powerful despite the fact that 1) His sword doesn't often feel like playing, so he can't even really use his shikai until she wants to play 2) he gets damaged just as bad in his shikai as the enemy and is at the same disadvantage, and 3) His Bankai , if he uses it while weakened, weaker than his opponent, he'll probably die. His power literally holds him back to some extent, but he is still so gifted and strong he became the Captain Commander anyway, thats my dude right there.

You know, the whole TYBW arc was rushed as hell and every fight was like they were playing UNO and only had reverse cards, I know it was because Kubo was on the clock. But putting that aside, Shunsui's bankai was (to me) the most expected along Urahara's, and Shunsui's is the coolest bankai ever, too bad they matched him with an almost unkillable h4x0r.

Now, Shunsui’s all alone as the oldest of the Gotei. There use Ukitake who was his contemporary, Yama his master, and Unohana another ancient. Heks the most laid back of all captains, now he’s the Head Captain. After this arc, he’ll only be more ruthless and terrifying in a battle. He’s a one-man army in this bankai with sure-hit and sure-kill trait. Kubo was keeping his abilities secret for a reason. I still would have wanted to have seen Ukitake’s bankai even once.

Well, Zaraki should be around the same age. Unohana fought kid Zaraki before the Gotei fought the Quincy’s (according to the anime flashback, where she has her scar), and Shunsui was a kid around Middle-Age looking Yama (how Yama looked when he founded the Gotei), so Zaraki and Kyoraku should be about the same age.

Rukia is a ice nuke with herself as the bomb. Shunsui literally changes reality within his domain which is everything his Reiatsu can reach. Forcing everyone inside to partake in a "play" which is one of the most lethal Bankai's in Bleach. Yamamoto's Bankai has 4 abilities: two passive and two active. One of the passive abilities encases him in a star and is so powerful he can destroy whatever realm he's in. And characters like Toshiro who use Ice or water Zanpakuto can't even use their Bankai powers when Yamamoto is using his. Ichigo literally just gets a costume change, a normal sword (which is even smaller than his Shikai sword) and a speed boost. So yes, compared to everyone else, it's pretty small.

@@corruptangel6793 A speed boost that is so fast mind you, that it can even catch veterans as fast Byakuya off guard with almost no real effort. Really? The only reason Ichigo didn't drop Byakuya in the first thirty seconds of activating it was because a.) He didn't want to kill him and b.) He wanted to prove a point to him the same way Goku tried to with Frieza.

@tom gu it's hardly boring. Simple maybe, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a highly effective power and really badass. White shows how awesome Ichigo's abilities really are if he could master them. Also, Ichigo didn't become the strongest until the TYBW arc, when he could finally use his inate Transcendent power (he's the first natural born God since the Soul King). Throughout the rest of the series, Ichigo is playing catch-up in both skill and power.

Shunsui yama uktiake unohana could've each realistically taken out all the espada. The only real threat to the court squads If shit got real was aizen and gin. The OGs were stronger than all the sternritter too they just don't have immortality via yhwach like they did

@@gamikash6796 not close, in terms of reiatsu, probably only zaraki and yama would outclass shunsui in gotei 13 after Aizen left. His character type only depicts him rather using underhanded tactics instead of fighting seriously to win.

So I know since this is a good guy, Soul Madness picked a more inspiring OST to go with Kyoraku's Bankai usage but considering how grim it is, I kinda wished he'd used something like SMT 4 Apocalypse's F5 track (the one that plays during the 1st phase of the fight with Dagda). F5 has a very sinister "I'm so fucked!" vibe which I think pretty fitting considering what Katen Kyokotsu Karamatsu Shinju does. On the topic of SMT music, I think SMT 4's B6 (phase 2 of Merkabah) is very good for whenever Vollständig Lillie is in control of the fight. Considering the usual subject matter of MegaTen, I'm honestly surprised Shiro Sagisu hasn't composed for one of the games yet.

Pratically his bankai brings theatre into the real life (tragic piece of theatre which ends with death) that's why is forbidden to use around allies because everyone will die. (Depends on the reiatsu)
