I just picture Shinji was sitting in his captain office when the invasion started. He got out of his chair walked over to the CD player and had Escalon Remix ready to go. Like some of these lyrics really hit my soul after I went through a bad one 2 years ago where, as the song say, I tried to find forever in someone that was just meant to be a moment. Now my life is far better than it was and I’m ironically vibing with the idea of thanking them.

This song fits Shinji so much, in a real petty way. It's essentially the relationship he has with Aizen after everything. He can understand why Aizen did these things. Living a life hating him every waking moment, isn't going to do anything though like what he did before Karakura Town Arc. Because Aizen is locked up, and Shinji has regained everything he lost. His squad, his position as Captain, friendships with people he missed. "Everything I Lost", has become everything he gained. To which he owes Aizen both. Shinji is at the top, and for now, Aizen is at the bottom.
