That's the thing, Zangetsu is neither of them. White is his Hollow powers and Yhwach is his Quincy powers. Both are mixed with his Soul Reaper powers, which is Zangetsu. Both Yhwach and White could wield Zangetsu just fine. White was just more aggressive due to his Hollow nature whereas Yhwach was calm and defensive like a protective father. Only White shot ceros because he's the Hollow, not Yhwach. That's why Zangetsu's true form is made of 2 different blades. The long one is his Hollow powers and the short one is his Quincy powers. And I'll just say this: Ichigo's Bankai training prior to saving Rukia is a massive foreshadowing that has yet to be fulfilled in the anime 😋.

@@louisrobitaille5810 White was made similarly to how an asauchi is made, so when white entered Ichigo, it merged with his shinigami powers just as a regular asauchi does to become a zanpakutou. Although he has Quincy powers as well, they didn't merge the way that his hollow and shinigami powers did, but Ichigo considers them both to be zangetsu because of his history with them. never seen anyone who dislikes that arc, ppl don't like filler overall and it's undeniable that even the zanpakutou one crashed into the anime in a really bad time, but the arc itself is good, even designs from the arc were used in source material later on since a lot of ppl liked them

the issue is the time they placed the fillers. ones that were perfectly placed were the Bount Arc and the Clone arc (i dont remember its exact name). I totally understand that the anime catch up with the manga at the worst moments but still, they were horribly placed. One arc literally went after the Grimmjow fight. This one if im not mistaken was placed before the fight against Byakuya and some interruptions in the Fake Karakura town arc

It's semi canon because tite kubo liked it too and he liked some of the zanpakto forms that one of them came back in tybw

Not exactly wrong. Yhwachs goal was to keep him from becoming a full shinigami. He tells us that to our face. White only wishes to protect Ichigo. Even if that means harming those around ichigo

it's actually a plothole due to the fact it's a non cannon movie and the nature of Ichigo's zanpakuto. Old man zangetsu is drawn out, and uses zangetsu's powers, while H-ichigo/White strangely enough isn't affected by it. White gives Ichigo strange new powers, despite actually being the actual zangetsu. The movie was made before TTYB was written and had to take some creative assumptions that turned out to be wrong.

@@justan324 don't think so, he would only assume Ichigo is a Shinigami with add on of Hollow powers as opposed to Hollow-based Shinigami. Due to the fact that he himself shoved multiple hollows in him to sustain himself outside of his master's soul, he assumed Ichigo had a Hollow in him as an additional power, in the sense that most people thought his Hollowfication was an add on Black Zang got pulled out only cux it's the "vessel foundation" of Ichigo's Shinigami powers at the time But with Black Zang out, White Zang can be fully let loose

It also doesn't look like his Zanpakuto spirit. All the spirits became humanoid in this arc. Zabimaru normally looks like a baboon with a large snake for a tail.

The 2 kings referred to 2 different female souls. One is adult and others us young. The young one's power has been used for all time hihiou zabimaru the Snake head one. His zanpaktu is more animalistic manner so they kinda like ignore renji or renji will get the power. But most of the time the adult version is more demanding and lazy.

They’re the same. Zabimaru lied to Renji. Hihio Zabimaru means Baboon King Snake Tail when in actuality Zabimaru has 2 spirits. Souou Zabimaru translates to Twin King Snake Tail. Obvious asspull from Kubo but it makes sense

Sōō Zabimaru had lied to Renji before, calling itself Hihiō Zabimaru. That's why it appeared as just a monkey with a snake tail. After Ichibei revealed its true name, Renji could finally unleash its full power which kinda looks like this iteration of the Zanpakutō: a monkey and a snake linked together by a chain. In the case of Sōō Zabimaru's appearance on Renji, it's a monkey's arm above his left arm that's linked to a snake jaw around his right hand.

@@huntertezz like this arc delivered so we'll that Muramasas plot twist got me even more invested in the arc...I remember when I was kid i didn't understand muramasas story but watching it again as a teen helped me understand how self explanatory this arc is. Like I feel like this should have been part of the manga honestly. 😭 Most fire filler arc in all of shonen in my opinion.

Far as we know, only Soul Reapers have inner worlds. Ichigo is the only one with his own Yhwach

Ywach is not an ally or enemy to ichigo. He felt like he would have to kill him if he became a threat, but he also loved him. This is why he was able to be pulled, but he still says I want to make you stronger even if it means you die

Zanpakuto spirits are the manifestations of the Soul Reaper's power, Old Man Zangetsu is no different.
