Rice dumplings, or zongzi, are a beloved traditional Chinese delicacy, especially popular during the Dragon Boat Festival in May or June. They carry significant historical and cultural meanings. The leaves used for wrapping zongzi are a crucial part of the preparation process. These leaves not only encase the glutinous rice and fillings but also impart a fragrant aroma, enhancing the overall taste of the zongzi. In recent years, a bright green type of fresh zongzi leaves has appeared on the market, attracting buyers with their appealing look. But these leaves turned out to be toxic. In June, a video blogger named "Xin Jifei" exposed on Douyin that some fresh zongzi leaves were soaked in chemical solutions as part of artificial processing.

One of the reasons is lack of religion and poverty being the other. People with religion usually have a conscience because in their mind God is watching them and will judge them when they die. No such worries in an Atheist communist ruled country.

@@bernardlouis4629 Religion hasn't helped Islamic people being nice to others. It's the leading cause for terrorist attacks in the western world and going by statistics it makes up of over 95% of the attacks. Islam literally tells their people to lie to others. Japan has the highest amount of atheist among all countries and they are doing just fine. All of the Nordic countries are also in the top 10 of highest amount of atheist people in their country. All of those countries where incredible safe, until we took in a record amount of Muslims every year.

About 15 or so years ago, my wife and I were holidaying in China and we were in a locally well known expensive restaurant. While we were waiting for our food, I had a bottled beer and my wife had a cocktail. Within a few minutes of drinking her cocktail, my wife became agitated and began shaking. We went outside and she could hardly walk, then she threw up and her vision started to go. She was sweating, shaking and told me she had been poisoned. We ended up in hospital that night, fearing that she might die at one point. Before the ambulance arrived, my brother, who's wife also suffered the same fate, as she too had ordered the same cocktail, demanded to see the bottle which they had poured the alcohol from. The restaurant manager said that he couldn't find it. This was less than 20 mins after staff had poured the drinks. They knew what they were selling. Fake booze, probably locally made with a high percentage of wood alcohol in it. I wouldn't go back there if you paid me. The stuff I've seen on here since then is enough to make me hate the place. Some of the things I saw while I was there I couldn't even write about here. So many disgusting behaviours and practices. Filthy place. If I had to sum it up, I would say think of a gold plated turd, and there you have China. All fake.

11:34. Yes, Eat nothing. In the Philippines, We have this food called " Pagpag ". Its basically garbage bin left over food that seem still be edible and usually eaten by impoverish people. Its washed several of times and cooked thoroughly at high heat. I thought pagpag was disgusting and dangerous but after seeing this, I think pagpag wasn't so bad after all. Even it came from garbage, they put a lot of effort of cleaning and sterilizing it. I tried a piece, it was salty and dry. But if you have little money, this is better than to starve. I guess we won't worry about the conflicts on our territory, lets just watch them drop dead one by one due to food poisoning.

The carcinogens won't go away even if it's cleaned properly. It's illegal to sell pagpag but it still exists. Do you know what's worse than pagpag? Buying food on malls or street vendors that sells chinese products. Fake onions, fake apples, fake tomatoes, fake garlic, fake everything. You'll have a stomach ache after eating their food. That's why you should make your own meal and buy from local farmers directly. Fuck the imported chinese foods.

I don't think that sounds too bad. It's the exact way people started eating things like kimchi, saurkraut, cheese and yogurt--if you get hungry enough, you eat the rotten things from the trash, and if they don't kill you, they might become cultural dishes. China willfully adding poison to hide that the food is garbage is definitely a new level of insanity.

I live in the UK, where Signal craw/crayfish _(American crayfish)_ have absolutely devastated our rivers, streams, ponds, and lakes. Not because they're American of course, it's not like Regan ordered covert operations where SR-71 crews would slow right down over the River Avon, throw out a few crawfish, roll the window back up, and bugger off back in to the stratosphere quick before anyone noticed - we did this one ourselves, earned it fair and square. In the 70's, some spunkmunching cockwalloper who owned a few restaurants in London decided he could be even richer than he already was by importing millions of Signal crawfish, growing them in "farms", then selling them as White clawed crayfish - our only native species - inspite of the fact the US imports grow to 5-6 times the size of our ones, reproduce way younger, faster, an.... yeah. White claws are pretty much extinct now, save for one waterway up north and one lake in an undisclosed location with biosecurity tighter than a nun's flange and physical security even greater than we have for our Trident II stockpile. To be fair though, the Royal Navy look after our nuclear deterrent.. If you can manage not to yell _'aloha snack-barrrrgh'_ for three consecutive minutes and remember to say please and thank you they'll probably let you take a few home as souvenirs...

"few receive compensation" it might seem like we're an overly sue happy society, but one of the benefits is that it can be a deterrent to companies here where just a slap on the wrist fine might be seen as "the cost of doing business". for serious injuries criminal charges would be nice. sounds like the bigger the problem the more the ccp would focus on keeping it under wraps though.

Care is needed with all technologies. Not just in China, but everywhere. This video mentions sodium cyclomate. Google explains that this artificial sweetener is legal in most nations, except the USA. Other food additives and colorings can be legal, depending on the national laws. Bloggers and others need to monitor these industrial practices. Corruption, bribery etc are not just the CCP and China. These are standard industrial problems, world wide. Journalists such as this video production need to follow journalism ethics also. China and other governments are nearly always being outsmarted by community practices. This explains they need for a "free press", without censorship. Unfortunately some nations do not understand freedom of responsible publication.

If you can’t peel others can. The problem is not whether you like it or not. The problem is why the Chinese are using all sorts of bad things that make people sick. All the kidney , liver and other sickness going around is due Chinese people using all means to maximize profits at the detriment of peoples health and yet the Chinese government sit there unconcerned. Stop buying anything Chinese.

When I have my shopping delivered to me, I always leave instructions for my supermarkets NOT to send me ANYTHING that's produced in China. If they do, I'll return them at the door. If we don't buy made in China foods and stuff, supermarkets and resellers can't import them to sell to us for profit at the expense of ours and our families health and safety! I mean would you trade your families' well being for the sake of a few dollars savings? When you buy cheap stuff from China not only you're paying for them with your hard earned money, you're also paying for them with yours and your families well being too! No thanks to made in China ANYTHING 👎

I’ve been throwing up lately after eating Asian noodles I bought on sale at Asian grocery stores in Canada and after buying steamed buns from a Chinese restaurant here. I couldn’t figure out why and now just feel safer avoiding it to be safe. It sucks, I love Asian food, but it also happened at a Vietnamese restaurant here in Canada. I will have to be much more selective because Asian restaurants were my go to. When I identify one where I don’t get that reaction, I keep it on my list and no longer buy quick noodles in the grocery store.

@@tinytt854 I did, I bought noodles to make at home. The point of eating noodles from the store is to save time. If I could make noodles from scratch all the time I would. The point is, this should NOT be happening. Especially not in Canada.
