I’m born and raised in Puerto Rico. This game happened in August 2004 and we were in school at the time, I’d just turned 15. We watched the game on the big screen TV in the library in our school in Mayagüez, on the west coast and the town JJ Barea grew up in. (Fun fact, we’re from the same neighborhood, he grew up 6 houses down from me)… Anyway, the game started out pretty even and then we broke away. The second half was a beat down and by the time it was over, me and my friends were jumping up and down in the library, tears in our eyes at we just witnessed and it was amazing! To this day I still flex my shirts the way Carlos Arroyo did at the end of the game when they took him out. That has become an ICONIC image in Puerto Rican basketball history. Good times.

This is Great Puerto Rico got a lot of Basketball History I think is needed to do more things like this we love the Game and we are Huge fans of the NBA we got a lot of knowledge of the league I hope the league continue doing stuff like this for PR they deserved, they should make a Jose Piculin Ortiz Documentary that’s gonna be Lit 🔥 Thank You Bobito great Job And let’s don’t forget this 3 points God Angelo Cruz Fico Lopez Toñito Colon 🔥🔥🔥🔥

You wanted a 3rd player, Piculin, or a 3rd guard, Ayuso; or you could have talked about old school players like Neftali, Monchito, Quijote, Dalmau...

Orrr… Let’s put some respect on PuertoRico? Even with Bron and Melo they still lost in 06’. Team USA was relatively new to the euro game. Coach K admits that they had to study euro ball and PLAY euro ball if they wanted to succeed over there.
