A circular walk in the Lake District covering five Wainwright Fells.
The walk starts from the village of Mungrisdale in the Northern Lake District and first heads up to Souther Fell (522m) before heading to Scales Tarn and then up to Blencathra (868m) After enjoying the fantastic views from Blencathra we then head over to Mungrisdale Common (633m) We then follow the grassy path to Bannerdale Crags (683m) The views from Bannerdale Crags are superb. Our final fell is Bowscale Fell (702m) From Bowscale Fell we follow the ridge back down to the village of Mungrisdale with a view down to Bowscale Tarn as we head down.
Distance is around 11 miles.

Hi Eddie. I did this walk the other way around minus Blencathra back in June. I thought the view from Bowscale Fell looking to Bannerdale Crags & Blencathra was superb & had me humming the theme tune to 'The Big Country' for some reason. £2 a day parking is canny mind and a walk I have been meaning to do for a while as I have only done Blencathra there. Good to see you got better views than we got at the summit of Blencathra and I have only ever had one completely clear view from there, despite doing it numerous times. Looked a great path over the Mungrisdale Common but what a disappointing summit, if you can call it that. Looked a long walk but what a great one! Cheers Alan

Hi Alan, we had a bit of cloud on Blencthra, but can't complain as the views were still really good. It is a really good walk, but as you have mentioned Mungrisdale Common is a very poor summit. Great little video, really enjoyed watching 🙏🏼😁 I'm not the bestbon the world with heights and some days (normally when im tired) it just gets the better of me and I end up having to come down for a while if I can't be bothered to have the battle with anxiety 🙄 most of the time I can push through though. I have a 6 hour drive from London to get there so I'm a little concerned that should I have a bad day if there are other walks around and I could come off the ridge and just have an explor around? It looks so beautiful 🙏🏼 in other words are there other lower level walks around that range or is it just the path you have in the video? Thank you so much 🙂

Hi, thanks for the kind comments. This is a great walk with some superb views, we both enjoyed the day. There are a number of lower level walks in this area. There is a really nice walk heading through the valley up to Scales Tarn. A really nice place to spend some time. Another low level walk starting a bit further along takes you on the Cumbria Way, a nice path heading below the fells. The low level walks are well worth doing as they also give great views and plenty of interest along the way. Thanks again for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.

Thank you. This was a really good walk with great views. I use a GoPro Hero 8 for the video shots and a Nikon D5600 for the still shots. I use a wide angle lens on the Nikon camera. I record the Go Pro footage using a flat colour profile on the Go Pro. This allows a bit more flexibility when editing the footage to try and get a more natural look. ( I am still experimenting with the settings) I find the Go Pro standard footage tends to be over saturated and high in contrast. Sorry for the long winded reply, hope it helps. Great to see you back but could help us spread the word the lake national park is not camp site it night wild camping from 5 pm to 9 am climbing up the fell to pitch tent for the week is not wot wild camping is inthe lakes as the park authority are under pressure to stop wild camping. Because it be abused and rubbish is pile up because of these people ! Also. It is mountain it cool or freezing up the fell side this year I had 3 case lost people or dangerous equipment failure leaving people lives risk taking water protect clothing every day in these temperatures as mountain rescue is under pressure as there is I believe only one helicopter to find you when your lost or fall ! Remember the Lake District national party has become more dangerous because the lack support of the raf been stop from search for your in crisis so don’t put any pressure on the guys onthe mountain who have to pull up the slack of budget cuts by government in rescue response ! Sorry my friend it’s great to hear from you but had to be said I now carry rescue flares in my back pack this year because of my experience of the hard working mountain rescue team work with out the support of government due to government cuts it makes life difficult for them could spread the word help them as they fight to save life’s in the national park
