My first properly working blender simulation done in 2.49.
The sphere is moving a bit odd as i still have to get the hang of these motion parameters :)
Rendered in Modo, whose render engine i'm much more familiar with.

The super slow motion and DOF really sells this one... juicy.

@onlyCreativity Yeah, some problem with the SSS. Also: Never use reddish colors for anything, it always gets jaggies; from chroma subsampling i suspect. At high compression this applies to any codec i've tested, KZfaq's included.

@gustavohuink Sorry, this was a one-time thing I did in the now obsolete Blender 2.49; I can't recall any detailed settings. I remember though that i used an array modifier to stack them, left a little slit in between each of them and made them active physics (collision) objects. See if there's a simulation "substep" or similar setting that could make your simulation more stable. That's the only thing i can think of.

@rubikscubix1 That's the image map used to light the scene, it's shot from a balcony.

@CoasterFan456 There's a "record to IPO" option somewhere that translates the simulation to animation keyframes. I'm using 2.5 now and i don't think it's been implemented yet; so i can't check where in 2.4 it was, sorry. Just google it and you shall find your answer :)

LOL @ all the Americans seeing (cheddar) cheese :D In my country cheese is commonly known to be yellow, so that's not what i had in mind when i made it.

Took a few pointers from the blender documentation and searched for forum posts on the topic. I don't understand properly how to give an object kinetic energy in the game engine tab, it was trial and error.

@gustavohuink keyframe a moving object into your scene, then CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-P, bakes your physics simulation. done.

Place the camera a bit lefter so that cube would crash exactly into it. Dramatic!!!

How did you do it so no box would just glitch out? Mine will never really hit anything spot on it will always float on something or get stuck in others

I made a physics simulation in the game engine in blender. I made a meteor hit a small block building. There is just one problem when I record it to the IPO editor... The Meteor Doesn't Show! Just the building falls apart! Can anyone help me solve this? PLZZ HELP ME!

I'm getting tired of slow-mo to be honest. I mean, people slow EVERYTHING down now. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty awesome, but can we get some real time for a change?
