this basically comes from chamfer zone revolver tutorial. poly model, with some care for eventual edge crease, subdivision, remesh, corrective smooth length weight and only smooth repeat on 25 to 100 depends, decimate. and im saying if your low has a one poly bevel the bake projection can handle more sharp corners on things. and making cust cages would take too long in production. no one really bothers.

you really should bevel for better edges before remesh. and if you do pre remesh you can even subdiv as well so poly bevel subdiv remesh dec more edge qual and control. the minor artifacts are hardly noticeable in normal esp for games. and esp when you add materials in sp which usually have lots of imperfections on purpose. your bake errors are because you dont have bevels in the lp to handle the sharp angles

Marmoset Toolbag is excellent for bakes as well as renders. You can also bake in Substance Painter.

Your system might not have enough vram. It's laggy for most people as well.

Sort of... you have to refine the quad remesh. It's better used as part of the process instead of using it at the end of modeling.
