Blender Seating Hotspot Tutorial For Spatial.io

I was having trouble following the websites tutorial so I made this video one :)
Notes:
-you can make multiple hotspots on one object i.gyazo.com/414939c14f3e90fc5...
-it works for objects set as an environment as well
-if your avatar gets on the seat backwards, just rotate the sphere 180 degrees (or until you are facing the proper direction)!

I must have watched about 30 of these and to no success. This was really easy and works. Could you please do the same for a spinning/rotating cube with an image texture, I can't get the animation to play it just shows one still frame but very helpful! Subscribed

Thank you so very much. But once I uploaded my chair, every time I interacted with it, it was in "edit" mode. Only when I logged in using another (guest) avatar, could I sit down. Anyone know why?

Hi, nice and pleasent to view, have someone more specific documentory, made 32 seats in a room works well and work with only one empty sphere, the hotspot one so when I will have time I'm interest with more informations

Great Tutorial. I was looking for it and it was super easy to follow. I also have tried with just the Sphere (w/o RootNode and 3DMeshMatrix) and works perfect. Why do we need to create those boxes?

I'm not too sure, but my guess would be that spatial "reads" these and recognizes it as a place to sit!

Hello! That's a curious problem. Are you uploading the floor as an "environment" or as an "object"? As far as I know, collision only works with environment objects, of which you can only upload one!

@@mariar9534 hello! I didn't know about collision of environment and collision of objects. I made only one environment, but I didn't know what I need to do with my objects without the collision. Yesterday I met a person in Spatial and he told me that I need to export my object from Blender to Unity and to add collision for my object. For example, I made a big stereo system with DJ-console and I want to make it solid. Today I started to learn Unity and I hope to do my objects with collision.

@@sergey_phaeton Ah I see! Maybe they have updated it! As far as I know, only the "environment" object may have collision that works and not other added objects. As in, objects must be uploaded with the environment in the same file to be able to "collide". Good luck and don't hesitate to ask any more questions! I hope I can/have helped. :)

Have you noticed that the hotspots are too sensitive? Like wherever I click around the seat, the character just goes straight towards it and sits on it even though I'm not particularly clicking on the hotspot. Also it's so hard to move from one seat to anywhere but another seat, so when I add more than one seat, character seems to kinda teleport from one seat to another no matter where I click. Let me know if you know how to fix this. Thank you so much!

Sure! Currently there isn't an option to import objects that truly emit light... but I could make one showing you how to make it LOOK like it is if you'd like? :)

To make a character stand on something it must have collision! Therefore, it must be uploaded as a part of the environment rather than a separately uploaded object :) Hope this help!

Did you try adding hotspots to an environment ? Do you think it's possible to have multiple hotspots tied to a mesh for creating a whole row of seats ?

Ok, just tested it out, and its a yes to both of your questions! I uploaded a mesh with 3 seats- it worked. Then, I uploaded that seat mesh as an environment and it worked as well :)

@@frozen209 Sure! Basically follow the steps shown in the video, then do it again on the other spot you want the hotspot in. You can copy and paste them, just make sure you re-name your sphere (while still having -hotspot at the end) or else it will copy the name as "-hotspot.001" and spatial won't recognize that!
