Thanks I was using all option for baking but mesh didn't show up, i saw only particles, I figured out that i needed to change from eevee to cycles. thanks for this tutorial anyways, now I know when to use Modular type :)

The reason why many people who watch are not subscribing is because when you type bake button gone missing on google search , it opens a aliased window of your tutorial as a searched result , thus the viewer consumes the video and never lands on the youtube to sub the channel ! luckily i had subscribed before so i was safe but for the others good you put out that note in the end cheers

thanks for this, is there a way to utilize the GPU for fluid sim baking? seems to only use the CPU which can take a while with 256 resolution divisions

thank you so much for this video, very well explained! But I got a problem with the noise baking; it doesn't let me press the bake noise button even though I already finished to bake the data... How do you move the fire? When I move the domain or circle/object that fire is emitted from, only the domain box moves and not the fire itself.

If I am understanding you correctly you need to actually move the inflow object not the domain.

How to resume the bake of simulation? Sometimes i pause it using esc and dont know how to resume it.

The bake button should turn into a resume button if you stop the bake on the Modular Cache Type.

When I bake the Modun's cache, everything is done and shutdown and when I re-open the blender the cache data is gone, so the cached items are not applied to the worked object. hope to guide me. thanks

If you want to save the bake you need to set a custom folder for the cache. The default is a temporary folder so when you close blender it will delete the cache.

Since I’m early, I need help. I followed your mantaflow fire simulation video and no flames ever came about. I can see the smoke but not the flame. What should I do ?

Is the inflow object as "fire and smoke" or just "smoke?

Yes I agree with Pro Effects, is your flow object set to fire? Also make sure in the material you turn up the black body intensity to see the fire in the rendered view.

@@OfficiallyOToole Ok so I got it to show up in the solid and wireframe viewport but it doesn't show up in the render viewport, yes the inflow is set to 'fire' and I set my material to a majority black. So now I just can't get it to show in the render port

@@OfficiallyOToole Nevermind I figured it out ! I forgot that the black body intensity meant in the materials section and not on the in flow object. Thank you guys for the help :)

Very confusing again Blender! Why does the bake button shift panels when using different cache type.... thats so ridiculous! When i use modular, it goes to settings panel. When i use all, it stays in the cache panel

OMG, they Changed it Again. Now it says "all" instead of "final." And it seems like they moved some things in the Modular option, so no idea where to update cache for those things. And replay is So buggy I can't get Anything to update. So, calculate everything every time you make a change I guess. This video Did help, because I learned what the settings were. But still very frustrated.

i know Blender is open source but it would be so much easier for my workflow if they would stop changing things for no reason. Or at least maybe update their documentation. Or maybe I should just stick with one version instead of updating to every new version 😂
