I kinda appreciate this style of tutorial, just throw everything at you to make these cool but basic shapes, so that you have to figure a little bit out yourself but actually remember it all and will know those tools for use elsewhere

This is so incredibly useful. I was trying to remember how to make it spin around like that, and what I was looking for was simple deform. An the use of the lattice? Glorious.

The third model gets VERY thick. How do I make it smaller?

watch it at 0.75x speed and you will understand things better.

No no no, unfinished. The final version of the spiraled objects has the beams' top faces completely flat/leveled. The ones you did before aren't :P

thats easy just select the faces and scale on z axis by 0 S Z 0
