Despite his affluent background, he chose a humble lifestyle, aiding the poor and marginalized. An avid mountaineer and athlete, he found spiritual solace in nature. Frassati was a Third Order Dominican, promoting social causes and fighting against injustice. Known for his joyful spirit, he died at 24 due to polio contracted while caring for the sick. Canonized in 2002, his legacy endures as a model of faith, compassion, and dedication to others.

The story is very wholesome when he fed the hungry young boy with his own food. Stories like that make my heart joyfull.

Sorry. Odd comment for a well written story about a wonderful seeming young man. It is good that he went when he did, or he would have suffered through WWII. It would have unhinged him or he would have been made an example of and suffered even more Then again, he might have softened many hearts and saved many. Very many. GOD knows and always knows what is best.

The Camerlengo in Turin is run on charity. Many donate and volunteer help there. It is not government run, but seemingly a living miraclel. There is a contemplative community there too. +
