My introduction to James Brown was back in 1991 when I got shipped off to AIT at Ft. Sam Houston TX. Our platoon SGT gathered us up after someone was caught doing something they weren't supposed to be doing and got punished and she said "You gotta pay the cost if you want to be the boss. James Brown" and she turned around and left. I didn't know what she was talking about by saying James Brown but I remembered it and bought a couple of his tapes and found this song and it all made sense! Thanks for listening lol!
