Young blind pianist wows Leeds train station and viewers on new Channel 4 show The Piano 🤯🥲
Lucy, 13, left judges Mika and Lang Lang speechless with her rendition of ‘Chopin's Opus 9 Number 1’ on the programme, presented by Claudia Winkleman.
The series sees members of the public take to the piano in train stations across the country.
Judges watch in secret and decide who should go on to perform at Royal Festival Hall in London.
What an incredible talent 👏

She plays like an angel despite her disability. I love to play Chopin and ALWAYS get lost. The music from Chopin is so soft and best proof is this video - has healing power.

She is terribly touched by her blindness, not Angels. Her moves are not natural and disturbe to listen to. That problem has its name: BLINDISMS.

Actually the eyes are one of the last thing you need to play piano. Of course it helps, especially for learning, but being blind is not that big of a deal when it comes to playing the piano. Same for most instruments actually. Pianists remember pieces with muscle memory, so they can all play with their eyes closed very easely.

I teared up in seconds - this Nocturne gets me every time! But never have I heard it played so perfectly before, EXACTLY as Chopin intended it to be played... He meant for it to reach right into your chest and to pluck away at every heartstring with each and every single note until it bleeds! And this beautiful child has interpreted every nuance and inflection with total control and precision whilst making it appear effortless to her.... I am in awe. Her sense of rubato is especially extraordinary!

"The Clowns of God" is a French expression for those people who are cognitively impaired such as with Downs Syndrome, mental disability, autism, etc. It is meant as a term of endearment, not derision. it took me a minute to figure out she was blind because i diddnt look at the title and i was thinking "dang i wonder what shes lookin at" then i read the title and felt really bad XD shes extremely talented its awsome i wish the best for her
