This is one of my favorite episodes in the whole series! The voice actors basically wrote this episode, and it shows!

I love that Spike was the mastermind because I can't NOT remember Cathy as her role as Near from Death Note! Two of my favorite characters that are polar opposites, but maybe a *bit* of that influence sneaked in there.

Ah, episode 200...this episode had a very interesting plot i especially loved the references in it, like the part where RD wore that outfit that kinda made her look like Meg from Disney's Hercules, and the part where Luna sat on her throne petting a goose like a James Bond villain, and i think some of us can agree that Spike truly earned that crown in the end!

I absolutely LOVE this episode! The voice actresses definitely had fun writing it.

This episode really stands out to me, because it's interesting to see what the actors can come up with when given the opportunity to write an episode. It's really fun! :D

34:43 That doesn't make sense; First of all, Spike was raised by Twilight's parents and the reason why he's younger than Twilight is because he was born when Twilight was a filly (just like how Sweetie Belle and Applebloom were born when the older sisters were fillies). Even though we don't see much of the Apple siblings' past, it's very likely that Granny Smith was the one who raised Applebloom making her the mother figure in her life. And why would Twilight be Spike's mother? He never calls her "mom". Twilight calls him "#1 assistant" to the point where he thinks it's his only purpose in life and she usually bosses him around and treats him like a ragdoll. A REAL mother would NEVER ditch their son (Best Night Ever) laugh at him drown (Winter Wrap up) or blast him with her horn out of anger (The Crystal Empire). Lauren Faust wanted Celestia to be Spike’s adoptive mother. If the show wanted to Twilight to be Spike's mother, that should've been established in season 1, not 7 seasons later! Also, Shining armor met Spike several times (The Canterlot Wedding, The Crystal Empire, Equestria games, The Crystalling, To Change a Changeling, Flurry of Emotions, Best Gift Ever) and never referred to him as his brother until now. Every time Twilight and Shining Armor meet, they always acknowledge each other as siblings. Look, it's great that the cast got to write an episode, but it doesn't change the fact that it's subversive and the ending would've been a lot more satisfying if "Father knows Beast" didn't exist.

I love this episode so much! I'm so glad the VAs got to request something for each of their characters. I didn't get it the first time I watched it. I thought it was really over the top and unrealistic in this universe. But I understand now (I found out a couple years ago) that I know the voice actors requested a lot of what we saw in this! I understand and celebrate it. The 200th episode of MLP!!!!

Rewatching that episode after years, I feel that Luna didn't float but teleported the crown to Spikes - so wouldn't that have worked on a bigger scale and simply teleport the crown away (without the whole heist) 😅
