Tox and clawz are the most skilled machines in quake. But liquid's teamwork and communication is just something u need to win 2v2. Very nice grand finals!
@raxor_6 жыл бұрын
that and they didnt practice nearly as much as liquid and their native language isnt the same
@Eispfogel5 жыл бұрын
They had to talk in english - that might have played a role in their communication. I guess they would have talked more when they could have talked in their native language.
@jx42195 жыл бұрын
Nah i don't think the language is really a problem. Look at what rapha and dahang talk about: Mega ready- two at rail- im stack- heavy up in 5 - galena low- galena rail ... You don't have to know much english for that. They just use commands they decided on beforehand. Also i think they probably talk english perfectly anyway. At least regarding quake. If you play an online game for 10+ years you get quite proficient in the game lingo. For example i could write an essay in supreme commander language which i played quite long and you wouldn't understand a bit even though you all speak english.

@@jx4219 I think you are correct. Maybe...they just don't need words to understand each other then ;)

the communication between rapha and dahang is almost militaristic and precise. clear coherent and even intuitive. that bond alone is deff what pushed them to win. imagine if tox and claws were able to communicate like that with the added bonus of their raw talent with the rails and skill they have, im almost sure they would have obliterated rapha and duhang. the amount of close matches, especially the first map, almost downright other-worldly as a spectacle; considering the language barriers and almost reserved communication with blind trust. Absolutely killer grand final.
@karlmorrison27136 жыл бұрын
Probably why they are called Blind Trust. No communication between them trusting each other blindingly lol.

Cranberries but they dont need to be good at english even. Just find up names for spots on the map and when you have a good stack and he can take mega just say you
@taiefmiah6 жыл бұрын
I mean all the weapons names aren't normal day to day words anyway. Mega and everything are basically called that by Russians as well. I don't think language is as big of a barrier since you aren't preparing a tactic

Rapha and Dahang's synergy are on another level. These guys have been playing against each other but also with each other for such a long time.

It was great to see all the time and hard work they put in pay off. All the talk going in was about these two teams and frankly it seemed it was going to go the other way. Glad it was best of seven, left no doubt about the outcome.

Holy crap. To the winning team (not saying, just to avoid spoilers), they embody the NieR:Automata phrase "BECOME AS GODS" perfectly. They have ascended the Quake competitive scene to whole new levels, even above last year and all the tournaments since! I'm honestly a little scared at what the future is going to look like, now. :D

Even as a Raphang loyalist myself I feel bad that a classic Quake guy like Tox missed out of some glory again in a team setup.Wish he would have won the duel tournament rather than clawz.

Let's be honest Team Liquid completely destroyed this tournament. The way they played, the way they were winning...rn they kinda too much for the rest of the teams.

It took 50 minutes of toxjq+clawz praise before dahang's combat skills were mentioned... the guy who not only gets himself to finals way more often but out-clutches anyone when it actually masters, which is what competing is about.

i am mad. tox and clawz are the world's most skilled individual players, yet they have terrible teamplay. they basically play FFA, each on their own. i see there might be a language barrier; but yeah, they knew it beforehand. they seem unprofessional. rapha and dahang are very professional, and value teamplay over "highlight-reel" playstyle that gets you into frag movies, but not winning tournaments. bad clawz, bad toxic... be ashamed and learn to cooperate :{

People saying duel is dead forgot that duel has been dead since Quake 3. No new faces in the finals for years, and now clawz has crept into the scene and taken everyone by surprise. Haven't seen that happen since Q2.
@websurfer69446 жыл бұрын
Well, bo1's dont really count. More players coming to PGL this fall and theres actually gonna be a proper duel format. Not taking credits from Clawz tho, he deserved the win, just sying that rapha would have given him a better competition in finals and especially in bo3/5/.

Great battle. But this isnt the toxic I use to watch. The toxic I know dont do all those rookies mistakes. Where are his great moves and impossible kills? I feel like clawz was doing most of the action and nice plays from his team. Anyway, Rapha and Dahang deserve this because they were really playing like champs. Im interessed to see Clawz next duelz now.

@faisalnimri47176 жыл бұрын
@@chicosun i don't think that any of them is the best in 1v1, it is when they come together in 2v2 that they dominate, their communication and understanding of each other is unmatched
@sneakyzzzz6 жыл бұрын
Rapha and Dahang have thousands of hours of practice together, no other team is even remotely close to that so of course they are dominating.
