I'm pleased - delighted even - to find out that John Ashton (Taggart) is still alive. He was playing the older, stick-in-the-mud guys, or the tough dad (like in Some Kind of Wonderful), 40 years ago already. I'm kind of stunned to find out he's "only" 76!

Side note: 'Axel F' is actually the name of the very iconic BHC tune. My best guess is that's the reason for title. I mean that tune is sooooo recognizable and BHC so I just assumed it's an homage to the original series

I watched Beverly Hills Cop 1, 2 and 3. And been re-watching for about 4x already and I am still loving it. I will definitely watch Beverly Hills Cop 4. It's been long due

Looks great. I've seen the 2nd and 3rd ones plenty of if times but never seen the first one. I see Netflix has all three movies so i might give all three a watch through before this one. I hope these guys give these movies a reaction. I especially like to see their reaction to a cameo in the 3rd one which i know these Star Wars nerds would love.

John Ashton was Taggard. He didn't appear in part 3 because of salary disputes. Billy says a line in part 3 that Taggard is retired and playing golf. Years ago there was a pilot made for a tv show where Axels son is a cop. The pilot is on KZfaq. It was pretty good but not picked up.

Def be good to watch at least the first one again and maybe #2 as well, looks like there will be some call backs as they are bringing the old guys back , Paul Reiser (Jefferey) and Bronson Pinchot (Serge) along with Judge Reinhold and John Ashton. I think it works better if you understand the callbacks.
