I was indoctrinated at 3 years of age. Spent 49 years slaving for the corporation. I did not have critical thinking skills. I served as an elder and pioneer for many years. I gave my life, energy, finances, youth, mental health to this ugly grift. Only to be spit out because I was no longer useful. Asked to many questions. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Colorado. 🙋

I was born in the religion and lived half my life in Australia and refused to salute the Australian flag at school, I always felt alone in making these sacrifices, I met Nathan Knorr in 1969 at the Melbourne assembly when I was 6 years old. I vividly remember Frederick Franz giving a talk about 6000 years of mans existence coming to an end in 1975, they were getting ready for you know what.

I got baptized in 1975 . I serve WT faithful until I became informed about CSA. Australian Royal Commission was a HUGE desapointment for me. I honestly can't believe WT could hide 1006 unreported cases of child abuse in Australia alone since 1959 up to 2015 ...and same time telling the sheep 🐏: We need to keep the congregation clean... I almost lost my mind... I,m out. But I,m still a believer because is not Almighty GOD,s fault, or Crist fault.... No worries Almighty GOD YHVH appointed his son Crist Jesus to bring the correct judgment to everyone individually including the GB. There is a separation going on right now, and many people don't take note it. Registered in Matteus chapter 13. Our responsibility as Cristians is to fallow Crist foot steps and stay faithful to the very end. Don't lose your faith. You are not the only one who feels this way... But Almighty GOD YHVH and Crist still loves and protects the faithful ones.

I was raised in and left the WT in 1999 at the age of 38, in order to escape my abusive JW husband. I married him at the age of 17. It took many years of counseling to get past his abuse and the fear of the dying at the hands of a loving God! I have never looked back. We are each accountable by our own lives and acts toward others, not by the discretion of JW’s. They say they were doing Jehovah’s work, yet not inspired by his Holy Spirit. I look forward to seeing the local body who professed to know things that I was doing, that even I did not know! They judged me apparently with the knowledge of things that I did not do. I look forward to asking what was the source of such knowledge…

There’s a malevolent, hateful old elder in the congregation were fading from who cuts people off and jabs his finger at them and then a voice. It sounds like it’s from hell itself tells them that they did things they never did before. It’s like he’s got a demonic crystal ball that he knows everything even though you’ve never even spoken to the creep before. A real hateful piece of work and I thought it was just him and I’ve come to realize there are these types of men in all of the congregations around the world. The one that we thought was a friend he was the more covert narcissist who like to hide behind the over one that was always pointing his fingers. They’re both in their 80s and their children are so scarred and want nothing to do with anybody.the younger generation is just like them. They have the green light to be from Bethel itself. The fish always stinks from the head down.

As soon as I was safe to move, I had to be hidden by Quaker woman because they were pounding down. The doors of suspected sympathizers to drag me back to him. I was out for many years and still believed they had the truth until I started to research the child abuse claims. The 2 major things that made me realize they are just a con game were in court under oath a heavy said 1. "the only thing JW's offer is a spiritual protection" 2. G Jacksons ARC response to question "are the GB the only path to salvation"? and he said with his creepy smirk "that would be presumptuous". It was a gut punch. Ex JW and atheist here. On your discussion of the atheist having nothing but the tangible and the person of faith having "the sure expectation of things although not yet beheld" I'd have to make a polite rebuttal. The moments I have with my wife, my family, the good and bad moments with people I care for (whether personally or professionally) I know are temporary and will never come again and therein lies the beauty, the wonder and the awe. To borrow from your present biblical perception of things a little more while faith may be likened to expectation, "expectation postponed makes the heart grow sick". The weight of expectation, the weight of longing for some indistinct future time is like being soaked to the bone in heavy clothes and waiting to dry off while standing in perpetual torrential rain. The answer isn't coming from the sky above I'd suggest the answer is going to come when you get somewhere warm and weather proof and take off the damp garb and appreciate being in the warmth with something meaningful to you. If some sort of religiosity gives you meaning then by all means, you do you. I honestly just felt better when I cast off the chains of superstition. As I've tried to get at, not trying to convert you to my way of thinking (I've done far to much of that when I was a JW) just trying to offer an alternative perspective for your consideration. All the best!

I like your reply, and I love illustrations to convey impactfull meaning, I think I should also use an illustration, we all have been given a promise of everlasting life if we exercise faith in the ransom sacrifice of Christ, we all hold a IOU slip of paper, and on that slip it says, I the Creator do promise to give you life eternal on the condition you remain in the Christ. The slip of paper only has value if you endure to the end when God delivers on his promise, this is why people remain in the Christ to be rewarded by showing unshakeable faith that God will honour his promises.

My english is not so good but i'll try to explain what I think: the matter is as simple as what Paul said about a haus being built by someone and not being randomly brought to existence by caos. We are able to recognise that most of the existing things have a function. Logic sais that if a thing has a function, most likely, has to be a part of a larger design. Thus there must be an intelligent mind behind that. Thus faith is something tangible Next step:why the bible and not any other text. The book of Genesis for example offers the pattern to understand human history. Archeology prooved that everything started in the middle east: diffusion of man, agricolture, farming, fruit plants, first citys, schools and so on. No other text reporter that. The major reported events like the flood are impressed in the memory of almost every people around the world. The first discovered cultures around the world were peaceful and egualitarian as the faithfull people after the flood should have been. (War is supposed to start whit Nimrod).The pantheon of most indoeuropean religions match the fallen angels and the nephilim. Most of colture and religions of the world retain the serpent figure as either evil or wisdom related. And so on. There are endless evidences to sostein the faith. Next step: why the theology of Jehova's witnesses. Genesis talks about a tree of life. Jehova created spiritual being to live in heaven and fleashy beings to live on hearth. Thus no need for an immortal soul that lives independently of the body. Thus no need for an "hell"(what loving person would condemn someone to be burn forever ). Long story short: I think Jehova used this bunch of unperfect people to spread his "Word" across the earth.The main doctrines are correct. The slave is probably saing "The lord is being late" and started sharing whit the drunkhards.

How Old Is Your Church? If you are a Lutheran, your religion was founded by Martin Luther, an ex- monk of the Catholic Church, in the year 1517. If you belong to the Church of England, your religion was founded by King Henry VIII in the year 1534 because the Pope would not grant him a divorce with the right to remarry. If you are a Presbyterian, your religion was founded by John Knox in Scotland in the year 1560. If you are a Protestant Episcopalian, your religion was an offshoot of the Church of England founded by Samuel Seabury in the American colonies in the 17th century. If you are a Congregationalist, your religion was originated by Robert Brown in Holland in 1582. If you are a Methodist, your religion was launched by John and Charles Wesley in England in 1744. If you are a Unitarian, Theophilus Lindley founded your church in London in 1774. If you are a Mormon (Latter Day Saints), Joseph Smith started your religion in Palmyra, N.Y., in 1829. If you are a Baptist, you owe the tenets of your religion to John Smyth, who launched it in Amsterdam in 1605. If you are of the Dutch Reformed church, you recognize Michaelis Jones as founder, because he originated your religion in New York in 1628. If you worship with the Salvation Army, your sect began with William Booth in London in 1865. If you are a Christian Scientist, you look to 1879 as the year in which your religion was born and to Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy as its founder. If you belong to one of the religious organizations known as 'Church of the Nazarene," "Pentecostal Gospel." "Holiness Church," "Pilgrim Holiness Church," "Jehovah's Witnesses," your religion is one of the hundreds of new sects founded by men within the past century. If you are Catholic, you know that your religion was founded in the year 33 by Jesus Christ the Son of God, and it is still the same Church.

As an atheist I believe in a sort of eternal life through our genes. I carry my ancestors within me and my children carry me and them as well. This can be observed in all animals. There are a lot of misconceptions about not believing in religions, but we are all atheists in some sense. A Christian is an Atheist when it comes to Islam for example. Originally the word atheist refers to people who didn’t believe in the ancient Roman gods, so Christians where considered atheists by the Romans.

@Solbrick 7 ай бұрын
@@srich7503 Here's wikipedia's explanation: Atheism, in the broadest sense, is an absence of belief in the existence of deities. Less broadly, atheism is a rejection of the belief that any deities exist. In an even narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities. Atheism is contrasted with theism, which in its most general form is the belief that at least one deity exists. :: With that said, it's interesting from a cult perspective if we would say that science is a deity and as a Jehovas Witness you can't have other gods, well then you're not allowed to believe in science, so the belief in gravity is believing in a false god. Maybe we just replaced a god that is pulling everything down to Earth with gravity, and we should be shunned for believing in gravity and other things like the science of lettering, or the science of agriculture.
