This will not work if you have the same problem I did where it failed with a solid red light. This is a firmware issue and you must use the procedure below to hard reset the firmware to factory: -First, unplug the SM and wait 30 seconds. -For this next step, you will need a pin or paperclip handy. While your SM is unplugged, press and hold down the reset button on the right side of the Sync Module, then plug it back into power without releasing the reset button. -Continue holding that reset button until you see a flashing red light on the SM. -Once you've seen the flashing red light, you can release the reset button. -After resetting the SM, wait patiently (about a minute at the most) for the solid blue light to change back into a solid green blinking blue light pattern. This pattern means the firmware has been reset on the SM, and it is ready to reconnect to the Wi-Fi network. -Tap on the Sync Module icon located at the bottom of the home page in the Blink app, then select the Change Wi-Fi Network option from the list displayed. Or, if your Sync Module has already been deleted from the app, go ahead and try re-adding it to your system.

This comment needs to be pinned ASAP! I was getting ready to throw away the module like a lot of the people in the comment section. Ever since I changed my wifi system and attempted to get the module connected/changed through the blink app, it continued to tell me incorrect wifi password every single time. I finally came across this comment and it worked on the first try. I'm not sure how you figured this out, but thank you very much!

Worked for me, I also had to restart my router and switch to rejoin blink into the WiFi without error.

THANK YOU!!! the first thing I’ve seen and tried (out of many!) that actually worked. It still went into a loop, tho this time saying something about updating the firmware rather than trying to connect and when I closed and reopened the Blink app the sync module was connected. Amazed and extremely grateful as was just about to give up trying.

Honestly dude, you are the smartest here. Please make your own KZfaq. After 5 days I was able to fix it. However I am annoyed that I had to listen to the advise of “deleting” the existing sync module. Now I have to go around the house, unplug everything, scan QR and add. Was totally unnecessary.

Yep this worked for me. I changed my router kept the same password but different network. Nothing worked. Even after doing what you said I battled with it a little bit more but this ultimately fixed it. Very very buggy but once the firmware reset I was able to close it all out and get it to connect after another reset. Thanks for this comment. I was about to throw it away.

I’ve tried this 3 times already and my sync module just will not work for the life of me and I am on the verge of throwing away my sync module and cameras. My module just will not connect to my WiFi no matter how close it is to the wifi

Try connecting the sync module to a different WiFi. If you still face issues, then your Sync Module unit might be defective. If it hasn't been a year since you bought the module, try if you can claim your warranty.

I've tried all of these. I've contacted Blink and my internet provider. No one can fix the problem. So I cancelled my subscription on Amazon and have several cameras & Module sitting in a box.

What kind of phone do you have. That same thing was happening to me. I ended up purchasing a new phone for other reasons and now the sync module and doorbell connects to it.

Thank you for posting this! I looked everywhere for a solution to my previously-functioning Blink sync (1st) not being found after changing from Spectrum to AT&T Fiber. I discovered that the Blink module isn't compatible with 5GHz, so I went to the modem/network control panel, gave the 2.4 and 5GHz channels their own/different names, assigned Blink to the 2.4 channel, and changed the names back to the single original name they started with. Seems to be working fine now. Not sure if I'll have to repeat that process to re-establish the connection if it's lost in the future.

I changed my wifi name and now my module will not connect to my phone. I've had my internet changed to the correct gigs and module blinks blue and stays solid green, then it will turn read and sometime come back on. I have no clue what's going on? Any advice? Blink couldn't even help me. When I go to put my wifi password in, it keeps saying wrong password when clearly it's not, it's on the back of my router. Idk what to do now

Thank you so very much! I got a new modem and couldn't connect to my cameras. The issue turned out to be that I had my modem set to 5ghz instead of 2.4ghz. I never would have figured out the problem without this video! Many thanks!!

So wait I have to set my modem to 2.4ghz? I'm a little bit of a Luddite so how do I do this? 😂 and will this affect my other wifi for other devices in the house? Thank you....

This thing might be going right back in the box depending on the response I get from customer service. I tried to sync the module to my wifi and the app tells me my wifi password is incorrect. I'm pretty sure I know my wifi password, but ok smh. I copy and pasted my wifi password from my phone settings into the app. The app STILL tells me my password is incorrect! I have factory reset the device as explained in the video and everything. Absolute garbage so far. I can't explain how FRUSTRATING this is! I feel like using these cameras for target practice right now.

I just got mine to work. Had this EXACT issue. I went to my Internet server app (TDS) and saw I had an update due for my modem/router. Did that. Tried connecting this time and worked!

@TheAstonisher1 Sorry to hear that. Did you try with a different WiFi network, like a friend's or neighbour's? If it doesn't work there, you can at least conclude its the fault of the Sync module and maybe convince Blink for a replacement.

Hi, i got the exact problem. I just purchased the blink 4 sets of camera and i tried to install the sync module and stuck with that problem. Tried to follow all the ways you mentioned but still no luck. And this is so frustrating buying something expensive and not working. #keepShowingIncorrectPassword

Connecting it to 2.4GHz fixed the issue for me. I had to split bands, I went on my internet providers app on my phone & was able to split bands and create a new Network & passcode, logged in and it worked !

The weirdest thing is this seems to be a global issue with blink. Something happened in the past few months with their service that is causing this.

Like you, I'm having the same issue. Blink sent me a new Sync module and STILL can't connect to WI-FI. blink is trying to say it's my Internet connection. I call BS!

@usaf5163 I kept the products. I upgraded my cellphone and now everything is connected. You may need a newer model phone. FYI

I personally do not recommend this security camera system. I had a hard time with the sync module and the cameras.

Does the camera video if the sync module is not plugged in?

Mine stopped working after a year and is blinking blue after trying to reset it and deleted the module from the app. It's not transmitting it's own wifi network, it's supposed to for initial set up. It just sits there blinking blue. Tried everything. Garbage.

Finally fixed this. Apparently I have to be VERY close to the Wifi access point at home when doing this. I was then able to re-add it to my system and provision.

Mine asks to connect to the Blink wifi signal.... I don't have a Blink wifi signal, I want this sync to connect to my wifi network - how do I change the settings so I can connect to my wifi?

@mikesullivan9389 you will need a sync module to connect your camera. The sync module will send out a wifi signal during pairing to connect with your phone initially. This is a temporary connection, till you pair your sync module with your home WiFi. So no need to worry. Just allow the Blink app to guide you through the setup. The Blink app will automatically catch the Blink signal, and you'll be connected to it. Then you will see the list of WIFi devices available on your phone, including your home WiFi.

I replaced my POS NETGEAR access point with a Grandstream and my Blink sync module absolutely refused to join it. Here's what I did to get it working. I'm not sure if all of the steps are necessary or if just one of them did the trick: 1. Deleted sync module from mobile app. 2. Created a new 2.4 GHz only SSID with a short, simple name and password (no spaces or special characters). Security mode = WPA/WPA2 WPA Key Mode = PSK WPA Encryption Type = AES 3. Joined mobile phone to the new 2.4 GHz SSID. 4. Unplugged the sync module. Then, while holding down the reset button on the sync module with a paperclip, plugged it in again. Released the reset button when I got a solid blue and flashing red indicators. 5. Wait until indicators show solid green and flashing blue, then followed steps to add a sync module. SUCCESS!

@@blinqblinqtech I’d used the SSID and PW I had before for years without a problem, but I’m not ruling anything out. Networking these sync modules gets harder each time I have to do it. I swear they just want to exact a little suffering first

Same here.. I upgraded to BluePeak EERO (fiber internet) and now it refuses to sync.. It keeps coming back saying "incorrect password"

Again. It doesn't work. I get all the way to the point where it says "add wifi network" -- and when I add my new network, it stalls and eventually says "password incorrect" - but I can see the password and it is absolutely correct. I've used it on my laptop and more than two other phones. I know the password is correct. So there's something wrong with Blink not being able to talk to BluePeak EERO correctly..... Because I still have my old internet service for the moment, and I can log my blink into it fine.. So I know I'm doing the steps correctly. smh... what a nightmare

When trying to connext to my wifi my phone will disconnect from wifi and then when i get tje faiure to connect the module, my phone reconnects to wifi. Simply insane how irritating this is. My phone is brand new s22 ultra

@lowenkarnes5959 that's is how it should work, for the most part. Your phone will disconnect from your home WiFi and connect to a WiFi from your sync module. This is temporary and is used only for syncing the module to your Blink system. If possible, try using a different phone. Atleast you can then come to conclude whether the issue is with your phone or your sync module

This so called module 2 is garbage!! it doesn’t work with my BLINK cam and iPhone, I’ve ordered four of these, and all of them failed. I had a technician hooked these up by phone and he still didn’t know what he was doing for a technician.. anyway don’t waste your money on these modules. It’s nothing but trash. BLINK needs to upgrade the module or recall this model for all its failures ASAP !
