if you have the blink sync module you can use a memory stick to store video instead of subscription to blink

We just wired our Blink doorbell earlier in the week so it works with our Echo Show 5. Caught a cheeky fox helping himself to pears off the lower branches of our tree. You can have a two-way conversation if the motion detector goes off. The one downside I find is the latency. Takes up to 20 seconds to work with the Echo Show (faster on my mobile phone) and we have a high speed broadband connection. We also had to change the batteries. We got our Blink doorbell in April. We're using rechargeable batteries so using one set in the doorbell and the other set ready to go in when needed. I have mobility issues and it's really good to see who's at the door from anywhere. Cold callers I can either ignore or tell them I'm not interested. Overall, I really like the Blink doorbell. I do feel safer with it too.

I love my blink camera system. Only concern is delay with current wireless cameras at front door. By the time i see motion alarm and go to speak people are gone. I am hoping that ring response time with my current system will be better. Great review thank you, I will buy.

We only have the outdoor camera at moment but just purchased the doorbell. Following your advise I assume it’s worth getting the sync module 2 but what I really want to know is do I need the “show” to change the doorbells as shown?

Cheers, probably not for me then as I want a dedicated bell. FYI, if you put lights up on the outside you can turn IR mode off completely and you get a fantastic picture, not tried on the doorbell but I have 6 of the regular blink cameras on the outside covering the front, side and rear.

Thanks for the video, really useful. I got the Blink Outdoor security camera when it went on offer a while ago. I repurposed it as a wildlife camera and it works really well at recording the comings and goings in the back garden. ( Foxes, cats, hedgehogs ). I'll get the Doorbell when it goes on offer on Prime day, I'll see how it works in the hedgehog feding station / house.

Would like to know more about it working with a mobile, whether two way, time lag to call the mobile etc

Great video, I wish the camera video quality in low light was a lot sharper. We get what we paid for at $35, and I am dang sure Amazon paid $8 or $9 per camera before the mark up to $35

Can blink door cam be installed vertically or horizontally? Have a short height issue. Wires installed in house panel so not enough space to install this straight up? I would need to install sideways… get it?

I used to have the ring doorbell but it was so loud when it rang outside alerting my neighbours to my gusts is there anyway I can turn the be down so my neighbours can't hear it ringing

hi Sam, how easy is it for someone to remove the cover on the doorbell. ie, so it renders it useless because there's people out there that would do it.

nice video but at around 7:50 you say that you were interested in how long the notifications took... then failed to give the "latency" readings. Someone commented further down. (thanks) I currently run two cameras and I find the delay runs at around 10-15 seconds which means if this were to be the delay on the doorbell it's usefulness is marginal.

How is your doorbell performing today? If you wire the doorbell, can it chime in your home at the same time while alerting your cellular phone? Can you talk via the doorbell and cellular phone? How long have the batteries lasted in your doorbell?

If you can remove it easily to replace the batteries then that means someone could just as easily steal it. I live in an area where I can't leave my bike outside, unless it's chained up so the chances of having this nifty gadget longer than a few hours would be a miracle. Any recommendations for something similar that's not so easy to steal?

Regarding the batteries: of course best option would be 2x quality alkaline cells but your argument for rechargeable ones is very silly... Just get FOUR of them and replace empty ones for fully charged ones ;)

Incorrect. It can't be wired for power purposes; only to sound an existing old school doorbell chime. The Blink doorbell can only be powered by batteries.

You can't do this review without the sync module. The doorbell is basically useless without it or a sub.
