After I had everything assembled on mine,turned the switch on,and noyiced that the headlights,and the spotlight on the driver side door would not come on.I tripled checked all connections,still nothing.I called Big Bad Toy Store,thats where I purchased it from,talked to customer service about the problem,she said that a few other customers had similar problems. She told me to maybe look up the schematics on the wiring,or check some of the forums....really...wtf.I told her for a toy that cost $2000,there should not be one freaking thing wrong on it. I did not want to send it back,just get it fixed,she told me to contact Blitzway,she was very helpful,and polite during this whole conversation.its a great piece if you can afford it,even with its flaws.

Also the gunner seat proton pack is different in the movie. The ion arm section has been removed and attached mid right hand side next to the main pack. There are also other small added details and obviously it’s much more weathered. I would love to own that car but like you I wouldn’t stand for those crooked stickers. They should have took a bit more care with it.

Aren't the afterlife Ghostbusters ecto1 emblem stickers of the ghost supposed to be a little crooked 🤔!??? Because if you noticed the 1984 blitzway ecto1 are straight the same way my blitzway 1984 ecto1 are🤔. Although the afterlife ghostbusters ecto1 stickers, I think, are supposed to be a little crooked even in the afterlife movie 🎬 the ghost emblem was slightly slant😳. Because blitzway will make all the 1984 ecto1, ghost emblems correctly straight. Plus ➕️ I know a few people with the afterlife ghostbusters ecto1, and it's the same. I dont think this was a bust.!!! Also, this was a great video after watching your review of both the 84 and the afterlife ecto1. I am now so tempted to get the afterlife ecto1. These were some beautiful shots of the ecto1 automobiles, especially the afterlife ecto1. Great video 📹......!!!

The Peterson museum has or had the afterlife ecto 1. I was watching a video of it. I noticed everything you are talking about including so much more. Its true the logo is way off on the blitzway so much more rust. No white wall at all. Looking forward to the modified reveal . Hope you and your family are doing well. Keep up the amazing work. Got this last week. Thanks for the great video. Hope you get the stickers sorted. I’ve noticed the parts in particular the single hose on the side doesn’t sit properly the hose seems very tight. The roof rack alignment pins are very tight. The proton pack on the chair is a tight fit to affix the outer border grid on. The clamps that hold all the hoses onto the side of the vehicle are loose and prone to popping out. One wire was completely out of the tiny white connector - that was a joy putting it back in. The rear battery compartment is a tight fit for the 2 lids to clip on. All my decals are good including the rear door. It looks great.

does the Federal Model 19 Propello~Ray light up? that's the thing with the red lens on the 84 & the gray lens on the Afterlife. Nvm now I see that it flashes rather than the sealed beam bulb spinning clockwise within the housing.

My Afterlife Ecto 1 didn't have as many issues as yours fortunately. My ghost are a little off angle like yours, but the Gunner seat on mine is very snug and tight and moves freely but with no wiggle, screws were in like they should be. My door bondo spot was weathered unlike yours and matches the rest of the door weathering. My windshield corners were slightly popped out but was able to easily push the corners back in. Overall the car has a great presence and I love it.

First off awesome review. Its a cool comparison. Very unfortunate Blitzway missing the mark like this. The weathering i can handle. I missed the 84 version so having thats not over the top dirty is fine. But the logos. Shame on Blitzway. Hot Toys, Blitzway dropping the ball.

i want to buy it first too. but I canceled it. because I personally like the 1984 Ecto1 better/ I don't think afterlife Ecto1 is that successful. it has many flaws from the paint. but Blitzway would have built Ecto1 A. then I would order it immediately.

Excellant video. The gunner seat seems like an easy fix, maybe some micro bolts and locking nuts with washers. The stickers not a problem, im sure Blitzway will send out stickers to anyone, I already emailed the owner and told him to send me a bunch and ill send to collectors who have issues, waiting to hear back. What I am curious about it the piece of tape on the rear passage door, I wonder if you remove it if the door is weathered underneath? I know in the movie it looks like it had bondo but I would love it just with that sticker removed. I have my afterlife, it arrived today but sitting in the garage until I find time to unbox it. I just got the Afterlife after missing out on the original. I love it. What sucks though is the decal on the back door is crooked like yours. Doors are ok.

I Also Noticed it In the Movie.

Use oil's, and make an oil wash get a rough bitnof packaging sponge and some steel paint, sponge on the steel making sure you dab alot off on a paper towel and hit the edges and you can do some light drybrushing over the edges of the roof racks as for oils speia, burnt umber and an vallejo German black Brown is an amazing base black for the dark steel and drybrushing over it or with an H2 graphit pencil as this won't come off as easy as normal lead! The car needs redone really! The rust runs look like something out a cartoon under the handles n locks! Its still cool and going to be a blast fixing it up!

Well, the biggest issue with this car was the rust effect

I have the 1984. This wasn’t too hard of a pass for me. I view the Wrecto-1 as a slight revision but not a staple car. One can only dream of an 1:6 Ecto-1A as that is truly a different car to me.

Watched the premiere yesterday but had to back and rewatch, really well done video and love the comparison. As you know, I already have the replacement stickers, but to be brutally honest, I am afraid of damaging even more, cause its a water decal, and I can see they apply some coating layer on top of the sticker. I am completely lost how to replace it. Any chance you will cover the process? I am sure the whole community would be extremely grateful! Keep up the good work! Cheers!

You gota print up some caddy center cap decals for the hubcaps. It’ll add a lot of depth to the wheel. Besides that For all the imperfections on both I’d be real mad for the amount spent especially to buy both. I’m still jealous I don’t have an ‘84, but the lil things knowing how insane us fans are about the minutiae, to have all these things overlooked just isn’t right. But you got it now, now you can make it awesome on your own. Awesome vid as always. 🍻

I know QC issues are becoming more prevalent with high end collectables these days but I can't help think that if the rumors are true of Blitzway losing their Ghostbusters license then maybe they just didn't give a flying F#%/ anymore. If it's true that Star Ace now has the 1/6 Ghostbusters license then we're in a world of pain as their headsculpts are Horrendous. Interesting to see if we get any figures made when the new movie releases in 2024. I really want some figures to place in the Afterlife Ecto-1 (mine arrives in a few days) & I'm still waiting for Threezero to announce a 1/6 Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) from Stranger Things.

For me I have one nitpick for the afterlife version where I don't know if it's on purpose or accidental but in Ghostbusters afterlife the front light bar is bigger than the 84 version and just from looking at it in the movie it looks like the back light bar is smaller and is the same size as the 84 version but here the front light bar is the same size as the 84 version but hey that's just my nitpick and I don't know if anyone else noticed that but I did and I really don't know if they did it on purpose or on accident

Very cool comparison!! Is there a Ghostbusters 2 model Ecto1? Because i know that version has some changes to it including an LED SCREEN that flashes in green or yellow stating “We’re Back!!” Along with more flashing lights. I would love to have see that version if available.

Did you contact the company you purchased it from? Suppliers are working with Blitzway to get replacement decals to customers.

Who else Noticed that the to car's are Different?

Hi, I'm a modeller myself armour mostly I weather model's for shows etc if you want tips on how to remove some of that irregular bonnet sponge chipping let me know if your not sure! The glass windscreen is what it is they have over done that also dusting whare the wipers have cleaned its stupid! As for pannal lines not lining up and the decals skeqif on the door's they should give you them separately like the old hasbr 90s toy! The yellow tube on top I'm sure was green wasn't it? They have used a German ww2 1943 Dunkelgelb yellow green on the rack tubbing I'd spot that colour anywhere!

Have they still used plastic gearing in the lights? Are they still grinding when spinning? I have the fanhome 1.8 scale I replaced the gearing with alloy and grease they are now silent its magic!

Just got mine. I’ve noticed that the front driver side two yellow lights are dimmer than the left. Also the rear passenger side brake light is dimmer than the left. Is this normal?

Unnecessary purchase. Simply leave the original model outside in wind and weather for 1 year and it will look even better than the Afterlife model.

Would you consider making a video of you weathering the ecto 1? Just so we can get an idea of “how to” do it as well. Also, great video. I was on blitzway website looking at the prototype pics and your video at the same time. The weathering is not the same from what they showed. I wanted it because of the heavy rust. I don’t have the original and I thought this version would have been better. I like distressing and I’m disappointed in the final version.
