This was arguably the best and most complete expansion we ever received. Ghostcrawler said years later that this expansion was like his child. They built an entire continent worth a lore from the ground up, made believable cultures, gorgeous zones, and balanced gameplay for the first and so far only time. One of the few expansions where both PvP and PvE were fun.

I may be a little late to the party but since this seems to be the discussion. Vanilla player: 1. WtLK - Where do I even start. Most of us played Warcraft 3, we all know the story of the fall of Lordaeron and the betrayal of King Terenas Menethil by his beloved son, Arthas. This expansion had everything anyone could've ever asked for. I can't describe the feeling of going into Howling Fjord on board an Alliance Ice Breaker for the first time. The classes were arguably at the best they have ever been mechanic wise, the raiding was awesome, the addition of Death Knights was fantastic, and the zones... Oh my God, the zones. Each zone in Wtlk was BEAUTIFUL. I still go hangout in Grizzly Hills from time to time just because the atmosphere of that zone is MILES ahead of anything else in the game. Grizzly hills feels like Northrend if that makes sense, its indescribable. 2. MoP - While it came out of left field for most people I thought this was by far one of the most amazing expansions. The raiding was good, the questing was awesome, but most of all, the land of Pandaria itself was immersive and made me want to just hangout in the game. I would just walk around sometimes after I had hit 90 and explore its beauty, looking for nooks and crannies I had yet to discover. When I first landed in Pandaria I felt like an explorer stumbling across a land lost to time, exactly how Blizzard wanted us to feel, and I think they hit the mark better than almost any other expansion except for WtLK. 3. Legion - While not as magical or enticing as the other expansions (yes, even WoD) it has successfully made the game the most technically sound it has been in years. Yes some mechanics of the game are flawed but its successes are incredible beyond all measure. This expansion also did the most for Class lore by a wide margin. The only character whos class lore I knew a ton about was my Pally prior to this expansion but Legion changed that. Not to mention, my Ashbringer completes my Judgement set Transmog BEAUTIFULLY. Vanilla Paladin me's head would've exploded at the mere thought. 4. BC - I remember my first time stepping through the Dark Portal and into Outland. I looked out over Hellfire Peninsula at the top of the stairs for a moment in awe of what I was seeing. Outland itself was such a departure from Azeroth in every way and each zone felt more beautiful (or grotesque in the case of Blade's Edge or Shadowmoon) and intriguing than the last. It was the first time the game truly immersed me and I loved every minute of it. 5. WoD - Even though WoD muddled the crap out of the lore, I thought the story was very interesting and it made me more interested in Draenei and Orc lore. I played Alliance since Vanilla and rolled an Orc Shaman just so I could experience the Orc story line. 6th. Cata - All Cata had going for it was the added races and that more classes were playable across the old races, other than that it kinda sucked in my eyes.) 7th. Vanilla - Yeah I said it... I'm definitely gonna roll a toon or two classic servers for nostalgia reasons but all the changes that have been made over the years have VASTLY improved the game. People who look longingly back at Vanilla as if it was the pinnacle of the game are looking at it with rose tinted glasses. It was difficult beyond all measure, confusing, time consuming, and the very definition of a grind. Thats my 2 cents... let me know what you think.

I know this is an old post of yours but I had to say something. Bruce Lee was a legend in China, before Bruce Lee Chinese people were depicted as bucktooth retards in major films. When he made Fists of Fury it was transformational to Chinese people EVERYWHERE For the first time they felt a real sense of national pride, many were brought to tears in the theaters. In short he was a big deal. He is still considered a national treasure, his home in Hong Kong has a huge statue of him and is preserved

I must be the only one that was amazed at the WoW Vanilla intro, and then from TBC onwards it was RIP. Demons from space, Cataclysm ruining the old world and adding flying everywhere, destroying worldpvp, and pandas in warcraft...pandas. Damn. I miss the dragons and fiery bosses from the underground,an actual dungeon.

Take MoP's in game content quality and quantity and combine it with a theme like WoD or even BfA and you have the perfect expansions fkin ever.

Some of us were totally consumed by Sha of Hatred and Sha of Anger, and so was I. I blindly hated Mop. I recklessly unleashed anger on Mop, thinking this panda-themed expansion is nothing less than cash grab nonsense. I was totally blinded, and didn't notice how much of a masterpiece it was. One of my wishes is to experience Mop properly in WOW classic.

I cried when I saw this live premier. Pandaren has been a big issue since wotlk.

People can say what they want, I thought MoP was a good expansion, not as good as any previous but it had it's personal touch to it. People who hate on pandaria are simply ppl who hate on panda race and maybe a bit of rip off from asian cultures but nevertheless, expansion was good, not the best, but good.

This whole thing gave me goosebumps and reminded me of when I first started playing WoW (MoP). I played right when MoP released. But then in the middle of the video I thought of WoD and just cried. WoD was by far the worst. At least Legion made WoW comeback :)

This was probably the best crowd reaction of all the expansions. Legion one was so dull, there wasn't that much enthusiasm like here.

This crowd went wild for every part of this announcement and it turned into the best WoW expansion they've ever had. Meanwhile if you watch the reveal reactions for BfA or Shadowlands they're met with a resounding meh, and they've been absolute dog crap. WoW was at its best during Mists, and has careened downhill ever since. A shame they let idiocy and arrogance run something into the ground like they have.

I had to laugh. They never meant to release an expansion so the korean geeks could be satisfied. The Pandas has been around long before even World of Warcraft came out. The Pandaren could be seen in WCIII (maybe earlier as well, i'm not quite sure). And because the pandaren and pandaria has actually a pretty big lore they wanted to make it into an expansion.

Why would everyone freak out over WoW Pandas?

But the pandas themselves really should not have been introduced as a playable race, it was a mistake and blizz knows it keeping them out of any major event or their leaders from being leading in anything store wise after this expansion.
