On KZfaq, the phenomenon inspired the creation of “whisperer” videos, in which people attempt to trigger the viewer’s ASMR by speaking in a soft voice and making various sounds with inanimate objects. Some people experience these "shivers" or "tingles" when listening to ASMR/some enjoy it, some do not.

Ohhhh my ggoooddd this is why usually I just turn on the video and close my eyes because when I go to the comments and see all these ignorant people saying "speak up! stop tapping! this is so sexual! what a stupid video!" it makes me so angry. the tapping she does for a couple minutes around 23:02 is one of my fav triggers. idk why i think its the repetitive consistent tapping, it also just seems natural like she isnt even trying to do it as a trigger so it doesnt feel forced or smthn

Wow totally did not know there was a word for this type of feeling.I used to watch videos that were very quiet to help me sleep and I got this almost euphoric feeling when watching them.. I used to experience my heart getting steady and getting super relaxed and I also got a tingling sense in my head. I always thought it was just in my head!!

One thing I've loved about your ASMR videos since the beginning is how conscious you are to making sounds. Some of my fave artists will tap something and it sounds amazing and they do it for all of 3 seconds and then never again. I love that you do the same sound over again until you move on to the next thing. I hope to see more ASMR soon Trish. ❤️

These asmr videos give me anxiety, I feel trapped and suffocated. I hate whispery voices. I like tapping, scratching, water, white noise ect, but a whispering voice is one of my biggest pet peeves.
