I was driving. She were looking for kangaroos and koalas...😅The world is ' very very tiny '...😶 That's very good to speak to you👌 My daughter spent several weeks in Launceston and had student job 2 years later in Perth. A young student girl from Melbourne stayed at home more than 1 month. We are still friends with these 2 families. For us, Australia is ' another planet '✌✌✌👍👍👍 We heard about recent floods. But we also heard about huge fires a few years ago😥We do not know what will be the future for our children. On one hand, modern life destroy the planet. But on the other hand, we have friends ' down under '👍 As a compulsive buyer😂I am not able to resist when I see such kits🤣But for the next plane, I chose an easy one... What an incredible 7 months....I think you've seen more of Australia than I have and I've been living here all my life. I have visited many places you have indicated but haven't made it to the interior yet...maybe in the not too distant future. You must have so many amazing memories even though it was a long time ago. Yes, the fires of 2019-2020 were terrifying and caused so much damage and heartache. So many properties destroyed and billions of native animals killed, some to extinction. We were living in Canberra then and the fires created smoke which lasted for over three months....we couldn't go outside because it was so thick plus every day we had 40+ degree temperatures. This was what made our minds up so in September 2020 we sold and moved to Tasmania.....such a beautiful state, lots of wilderness and very few people. A retirees dream! Unfortunately it is sad that the Tassie devils are being decimated by the cancer that is spreading across the ones living on the eastern side of the island. The University of Tasmania is currently undertaking research into treatment of this disease so hopefully will develop a vaccine to prevent this. Apparently it is not affecting the devils living on the western side so the research is looking at their genetic line to see if there's something there to help. Anyway, it's been lovely chatting with you. I know the feeling of not being able to resist buying kits....my stash will keep me busy for many years to come for sure but I can always sneak in another one when it catches my eye 😁.
