Gavin you gave it your best shot...at least you came back and found the problem. Now you know what needs to be done. You cant stay out all day in that rain......you could end up ill and laid up for a few days. Great video..I hated to see you working so hard and getting soaked to the bones. Tomorrow is a new day and a new blocked drain!

Great assessing skills even if you had to have a better day for it. Extreme landscaping like they had done can cause problems with drainage. So much is involved in the slant of the land and the underground systems that aren't properly attended to during those processes. Beautiful landscaping though for the size of the property. Thanks for sharing.

I feel like you had to remove that liter to jet that and have better control over the jetter head. The jetter head likes to burrow into the earth inside those storm drains since they’re only usually schedule 20 Pipe walls. Also that pipe seems like it’s dislocated with all that dirt

Amazing how people don't think about when plants gets bigger, especially the woody plants like trees and Rhododendron shrubs. From what I observe in these videos, most put plants in front of above ground pipes or right over or next to underground pipes and they wonder why they have problems.

Contractors fucking up pipes and filling them with cement. We had one of those week before last. They did a basement floor and filled the floor drains, which is why I tape everything closed, and try to be there during the pour. I have a top half job that I didn’t rough and the cement guys knocked everything about and nothing is coming out plumb.

Don't blame you one bit. It's all nice and fun making mud pies when the sun is shining but it's no fun when its raining. Better to come back on a better day. I always think it's a shame that home owners don't keep a map of their drains on hand it would make life so much easier.

I haven't finished the video yet, but from the comments I can see that you gave it up. I agree, sometimes you just have to stop, walk away from the problem, and come back when you've formulated a different approach. It's the same in all jobs. I notice you do a lot of cutting into the drain pipes. Instead of using the agricultural line, why haven't you invested in a roll of edge trim seal? It's strong, the better ones fit very tightly, and you won't have to worry about the line coming in and out. You'll get the full flexibility of the hose without the risk of cutting (if it starts coming loose, you'd see it)

Why doesn't the people down there just run the pipe above ground and drain it that way instead of all these fancy drainage underground somebody down there has got too much money. I know you get paid to to clean these drains. But these people got too much money. More money than brains. I don't understand.
