that was a mess left by the builder and hopefully the homeowner will be able to have reimbursement from the cost of your clean out. They will also need to find that serparation and repair it as well I would think, so that roots don't cause the homeowners trouble in the future at that break in the pipe. Thank goodness for your visit and the clean out!!

Those are definitely bigger drain pipes than what you traditionally deal with. At least with the new build, the contractor decided on bigger diameter pipes to prevent blockages, but alas, that was not he case with this one.

As soon as you saw concrete in that pipe, the owner should have been on the phone to the seller, demanding that they come out immediately. Squashed pipe, separated joint, concrete in the pipe... That's not good quality, no matter who is to blame. I'll admit, I've had expensive shelving for computer racks destroyed by workers. They looked at it, and decided that was FANTASTIC for cleaning their tools (and I suspect shoes) of concrete, and I didn't find out until it had fully hardened on the steel.

If that is a 'New Build' Property they home owner should be having a word with the builder as all of the pipe work should have been checked for obstructions before being the house being handed over to the owner, so the builder should be footing the bill for your work. Something tells me that you could be revisiting this street if the rest of gullies have the same problems mate.

speaking as someone who has had to clamber around under houses for electrical work, i despise the lazy penny pinching a**holes that dump their building debris under houses, spread it in the front or back yard and cover it with sod all dirt (pardon the pun) or in this case pour the slurry down the drain. there should be laws regarding disposal of building rubble on jobsites.
