Ah, Toad has learned to speak! // You'd think that there'd be a code or law or whatever that there has to be a minimum of 3 square feet (with good access to it) wherever work might be needed to be done. It is ridiculous to expect repair work to be done in such a small space (I'm sure that not all plumbers/etc. are small, thin/agile people). Maybe one day there'll be such a building code/rule so repair work can easily be done. Congrats on you being able to get into such a small area as this one.

Of course I did emergency repairs for them free of charge as they are family, but always direct the real repair to others in the trades you know won't rip them off.

MD's won't treat a family member. For good reasons. Puts you in a very bad position. I refused to do any calls for family. I'd offer assistance to only make sure they weren't getting ripped off.
