If you watch enough of these videos, you quickly learn that Australia has terrible plumbing but really excellent gardening systems, because they're all full of roots.

I don’t think they have terrible plumbing, it’s just we are only seeing the people having problems. Specifically the people who are having a problem and are trying to get by without fixing it

Dinosaurs and crocodiles are actually quite closely related, they had a common ancestor about 250 M years ago, then divided into two branches and kept on evolving on their separates paths. Obviously being mostly in the water helps to survive a detrimental asteroid hitting Mother Earth! Great video, enjoyed the little backyard-conversation. That's actually part of the fun watching your videos: Get a glimpse into Australian realities, for the best and the worst, since your work takes you everywhere. I remember seeing Harbor Bridge and the Bay as well as some of the strangest places I would never want to set a foot in and everything in between.

Plants grow between paving slabs, in sewers, up drain pipes, in the dark and yet I can't grow anything in a darned pot 😆 Could you take the swiveling nozzle off the wand and put it on the hose?, then maybe you could set the angle so it blasts around corners.
@DrainAddict2 жыл бұрын
that wouldn't work because there are no reverse jets to propel it forward. It would shoot back out of the drain lightning speed!
@DingleyDell2 жыл бұрын
@@DrainAddict I see. Maybe a new design of head is justified; sort of banana shaped with a 45 degree bend from head to tail, or perhaps straight but with a hinged elbow in the middle (with a securing nut on it). Type of thing that gets used once a year 😄

@killerdoxen2 жыл бұрын
Ollie, here's an idea to deal with those line branches you tried to get into, but couldn't. Go to a machine shop or have someone 3D print a clamp that wraps around the jetter head and secures with a bolt. Then take some automotive wire with a ring terminal crimped to the end. That's your control wire. Secure that ring terminal in the middle of the clamp at the bolt. Then you can send the head down just so its nearly passing the branch line, hold the jetter hose steady and pull on the control wire. basically you can try steering the head with the control wire. There's a greater chance of the head getting stuck, but you can spin your hose to release it, or design the clamp so it slides over obstacles better.

The open air sewage system will always be a mystery to me
@pookietookie4012 жыл бұрын
That isn't open air. That is a gully or trap. It holds water to prevent smells coming out. It is designed if there is a blockage downstream the sewage will overflow outside instead of inside.
@RebelBoringly2 жыл бұрын
@@pookietookie401 it’s below the line coming out of the house though. Unless it’s only gray water in the line Ollie cleared and the toilet isn’t plumbed into it, that’s still sewage just coming out the house and open to the air until it drops into that gully.
@pookietookie4012 жыл бұрын
The toilet isn't legally aloud to come into the gully line otherwise paper and waste will sit in it. Though I jave seen Toilets put in to them, it's not right. Ollie has a few videos where they do. So technically it can happen. It's more for the city's mains block you don't get all the people in the streets waste in the home, hence why it is lower
@HughzieTube2 жыл бұрын
Having the sewer lines openly venting into your bathroom certainly won't pass UK building regulations. Some of the jobs he's done the toilet has flushed straight into the floor drain so you can see the toilet paper flow past your feet!

I forget which video it's on but penetrator was cameraing a pipe and saw something orange in the pipe and said something like "it looked like crocky got left behind" or something. I think for plumbing fans like myself it's a nod to you Sir. Like how you once mentioned about a penetrator nozzle you said he's down in brisbane he good. Im a career traffic controller so whenever i drive through a work zone i always wave at the flagging crew and offer water bottles before i got my commerical licence and started working freeway/expressway traffic control setups I did thousands of hours of flagging so when I see that road work ahead sign i slow down and put my headlights on as federally required of US drivers in workzones. From road work ahead to end road work sign you are in a work zone.have a productive safe week everyone.
