I snaked my first drain last week (paper blockage). It was a good confidence boost for knowing what I was doing from watching you and the Penetrator. And yes, I am now of the opinion that more people should keep a basic snake on hand as part of a homeowners kit. Keep up the good work.

I completely agree. I just went to purchase the same sort of shaft with the chains on the end used in this video, but the local hardware store didn't know about the chain thing on the end... so I bought without. So, I'm going to do my first snaking in a few hours. Definitely great teachers DA, Penetrator, and those Korean guys. The guys at the hardware store told me I'll need to come from upstream on this one - so hopefully it won't be too messy... Just thankful the blockage is upstream from the toilets!

That's true. I have a manual snake or spring, that you rotate by hand. It saved my day a few times :)

I remember my mother putting all of the largest pots on the stove full of water. She brought them to a boil and poured them down the kitchen sink to melt out any grease that might build up.
@Grunttamer3 ай бұрын
I don't think that works once it gets hard. grease gets like concrete
@sewerrat76123 ай бұрын
Works sometimes also seen melted piping with that method.
@tiredoldmechanic17913 ай бұрын
@@sewerrat7612What piping have you seen melt with boiling water? ABS melts at over 425 F, 220 C. PVC melts at over 300 F, 160 C. Water boils a 220 F, 100 C. Now back when my mother was doing this, all piping was cast iron or steel. If boiling water could melt pipes, every time somebody strained their pasta, the pipes would melt.
