Wow. This job had it all: burst fire hydrant pipe, multiple i.o.s, roots, more roots, the revenge of the cut away roots, and did I forget to mention roots. It also had the greatest example of perseverance in adversity I’ve ever seen. Hooking up the two hoses even though you knew it would be a pain to detach then reattach. But you did it for the customer. Hats 🧢 off to you Sir for going above and beyond. This is my favorite drain unblocking video. You are All Good 👍!

I could hear the roots laughing as they stayed just out of range of the hose then the sudden fear when they realize Ollie was combing the hoses into a mega hose😆😆

I might be worth him making a couple of 5M extension hoses for jobs like this, that he can add on to the reel. It would be easier to add on to the reel than stripping it apart. For the cost of a couple of connectors and some good part of an old reel, it would be a good add on to the van, and save time when needed.
@andyleggatt18462 ай бұрын
@@LArmor6S I think in an ideal world, adding extensions with direct fittings rather than quick connect fittings would be my go to choice, that being said, I don't know how easy it would be for a hose extension to pop off if it got caught on a dislodged pipe. You can probably get the male end as a crimp on for the hose anyway.
@LArmor6S2 ай бұрын
@@andyleggatt1846 Yeah, I was talking about him using fittings that screw together, like how the jetting heads screw on. I agree the quick disconnects would be too risky, I think that's why he stopped using them on the heads. Ollie can crimp the ends himself, there's videos where he's repaired his hoses and crimped on new ends. He could probably make the extensions in his sleep. 🙂

And my question to myself - if there is ever a time to connect a hose to a hose - is now answered. (not sure I'd use a quick connect coupling... I'd be afraid something would grab the release.) Crazy all that effort to just need another few centimeters... but that was all she needed and she cleared up quickly. Nicely done. Always love watching and learning.
@redmondjp2 ай бұрын
I was really afraid of that myself, but possibly under pressure it's more difficult to move that sleeve on the coupler? Maybe Ollie can answer that one. Myself, I probably would have dried off the hose and taped over the quick connect section with electrical tape tightly, just in case. But I don't do this for a living either.

Not halfway thru yet and already impressed by two things. 1. All that water running freely & clear (mostly). Here in Central Texas it’s just barely summer and we’re already under Stage 3 water restrictions ie. Can only use outside water 1 time per week on our designated day for designated times. 2. Your tenacity, Ollie, is much to be applauded and emulated!

Wow that one took a lot of effort! One of the few times that you have needed to use the direct line from the van, and you had to use it twice on this one! *Hell:* the never ending pain and regret associated with a *fully informed accusing conscience* for purposefully rejecting God i.e., Jesus Christ and Biblical truth, all because living a life of faith and obedience, was just too inconvenient to the lifestyle you wanted to live. *Truth is a stubborn thing.* "Seek the Lord *while He may be found.* Call on Him *while He is near"* [Isaiah 55 v6]
