Amazing that he only switched over from tighthead to loosehead prop 3/4 years ago. Definitely in the top 2/3 loos heads in world rugby. 27 years of age and already at 60 caps for Ireland. Exact same situation as James Ryan. The way he’s going he’ll get to 100 caps by 30. Don’t think I’ve seen him injured once in the last 6/7 years. The man’s a beast and he makes 350kg look easy in the squat. Classy player and bloke!

😂😂😂 yep ye have better animals in the SH, the NH just hasn’t got enough animals like Esbet, Cane etc 🎉… also having the natives from the smaller islands does help.. The NH have cottoned on to that slight of hand, with Bundee tearing holes in the Blaks and Saffers defensive lines. In the Ireland game vs AB’s Madame barnes seriously gave the scrum away by default and very poor decision making to the Blaks, thus cutting the Irish ☘️ attack by one third. The self inflicted Irish line out snafu was exposed by the Boks, continued into the quarter’s which the AB’s exploited to the full, so laying waste to Irelands quick attack…. But the piece de résistance was the Barret saving try tackle, that would have put Ireland 🇮🇪 through to the semii’s, what a brilliantly timed and executed tackle 🎉…. So long Jonny, y’a played yer heart ❤️ out, but yer olde mate Madame barnes had the last laugh on y’a and on the Blaks in the final ….. Finally, the minute the Irish and the French failed to progress, half the television viewers turned it off as the NH has no real interest in watching a SH final in Paris…. So a word of advice to the RWC dikheads, make sure that y’a put the best sides on either side of the draw, y’a useless idiot’s 🎉 Just saying 😎….

definitely definitely, as he said, when Irl. & Fr. went out, the whole tournament took a nose dive. No doubt about it. It was the final everyone was hoping for - Fr. & Irl - and what's-more it would have been the ideal final for world rugby in general. Would have given such a shot in the arm for countries such as Portugal, Georgia, Chile etc rather than 'same-old-same-old ( With all due respect to NZ & SA) Actually there is nothing but a casual or careless decision by a Ref. between the top 4, Irl, Fr, NZ SA (or 5 if we incl Eng. too! who defied the odds and came to the boil nicely!)

I’m an Irish rugby fan and I was bitterly disappointed when we lost to NZ. I’m only over it now, kind of. Buck sake! 😢 But anyways, the IRFU should definitely have some sort of plan in place to help the team to deal with a loss like this together. Listen, nobody died, but these guys were building for this RWC for years and were living together away from their family’s etc. That’s a huge commitment. You can still hear it in Andrew’s voice, that it still hurts big time. Jesus, it’s all coming back. FFS 🤦‍♂️ There should be some sort of therapy for the poor fans too 😉🏈. Best of luck to all and drink helps🍻😁 joke.

They'll be intent on taking back their No1 spot over the next few seasons and getting ready to go again for next WC. Pain channeled to drive even more positive intent. It's good that Porter and other players hurts but he'll know the answer isn't therapy, it's drive to play better and play harder

I was lucky to be in the front row of seats on the 22 amongst the families, it was heartbreaking. Was 3 feet away from Andrew and his wife he was absolutely broken, as was Bundee. I had a hug with big Jack Conan and I never felt so proud to be Irish being there with our big family. Thanks to Andy Farrell for reinforcing the great strength of Irish people. I finally dared to watched the match back and for me the two errors that cost us the game was the penalty miss (Jonny can usually get those in his sleep) and Conor Murray pulling the jumper down and conceding a penalty. One thing stuck with from that game, my ticket was half the cost because it was restricted view (even though in the front row), never realised till then that Flats who was on the touch line on front of me had such an enormous head on him…….😊

Great talk with a lovely fella, gentleman! - Bottom line: scrums need to be massively de-regulated and liberated from the clutches of the referee. One rule only: no deliberate collapsing. That apart, the ref should allow everything: driving sideways, front row standing up, knees on ground - who cares! - Just let the ball come out willy nilly. This will make the scrum-half work for his glory and keep the game flowing. What do you think? I can't see any drawbacks to my idea. 😎

The main knowledge that Ireland should take away is the knowledge of how much energy and fatigue kicks in after a few weeks of high intensity games. I think they underestimated it and by the time they played NZ after SA, Tonga and Scotland, they were looking a bit flat footed. They should have trusted their squad depth more and allowed for more rest by the main squad players.

As a fan, I'd take the 50/50 calls any day because that has ALWAYS been a part of the game, what I cannot take anymore is the unnecessary involvement of the TMO at times, especially because they are so inconsistent in their calls. Both teams have 80min, let the game flow and allow the "HUMAN" refs to make mistakes here and there and let's the scoreboard stand at the end of the game, that's it. New saffa subscriber!
@billbobby461
@billbobby461 6 ай бұрын
No I totally disagree I want MORE TMO intervention not less. If the infringement is made it should be penalised or dealt with appropriately not ignored. Why allow teams to continue the gamesmanship tactics when we can stop them and finally tidy the sport up. Do you want rugby to be a minor niche sport for forever? They say its because the rules are too complicated but they aren't they just aren't enforced consistently so no-one casually watching can tell why one thing was OK and another wasn't so can't understand it
@tinyikoshibambo8167
@tinyikoshibambo8167 6 ай бұрын
stalemate on this one, let's agree to disagree....I can assure you, the more stop/starts in the game because of TMO that's the end of rugby as we know it. Consistency is key, be it the Ref or the TMO but you cannot kill off a high intensity game just for the TMO and Ref to debate the interpretations of the rule book. TMO should be more for "dangerous play etc." but not for the "Play"...., @billbobby461
@billbobby461
@billbobby461 6 ай бұрын
@tinyikoshibambo8167 why not? If the players infringe then they should be penalised? Why allow them to get away with it? Who's ruining the game really are the players not the referees. So as a spectator I want the game refereed to the rules across the board, not some fantasy of "flow" that didn't exist. Penalise the players that stop the flow. And to make things clear here the only reason there was any painfully long decisions to make during the world Cup was for the SH sides, NH sides are used to the implementation of the laws and play accordingly, Curry got a red card and should never have been questioned, Etzebeth should also have gotten red on Antonio, just like how Cane deserved it against Kriel. The reason the decisions took any time was because of world rugby trying to adapt to allow for the spectacle rather than the sport. It's ridiculous.
@tinyikoshibambo8167
@tinyikoshibambo8167 6 ай бұрын
of course infringements should be penalised, I'm not saying they shouldn't, but if it means involving the TMO every 2min then I might as well watch cricket. I'll say it again, the key is consistency from both TMO & Refs with the same understanding & interpretations of the rules, that would have a ripple effect of actually having a flowing game as the Ref would be given all the confidence required to make the right calls@@billbobby461

Shocking decisions in RWC NZ v IRE - Fainga try was clearly forward pass. The video circulated after world cup shows this only for history sake. On another day with another referee, Ireland had won (ignoring other inch opportunities). The same, only worse, applies to France's defeat by SA Here, Smith had hands on ground, no penalty. Incorrect penalty call against Dupoint at line gives Etzebeth an incorrect try. (Dupont releases ball and regathers in replay). All that apart from the early run by Klobe. If I was French, I'd probably consider giving up watching rugby, I have never seen a team more unjustly robbed in any tournament. In this game, decisions against Porter going in at an angle were clearly wrong. Anyone who's played front row rugby know the story: the scrum turned and Porter held up, looking like he's at the wrong angle. If scrum calls are 50:50 correct, or 50:50 wrong!!!! then the rules should be changed (award an indirect free kick), so that a huge advantage isn't give for a wrong call.

Did you notice that. The European sides who played SANZR teams under European refs generally just about won in the pool stages, while SANZAR teams under SANZAR refs just about won in the Semis. Interesting. Another ref on another day! If you want to grow the competition. Adding in more meaningless blow outs in the next WC, simply won't do it. Particularly if the same old, same old sides make the semis and finals again. I can watch SA Vs NZ anytime. Just anytime.

This is how bad Wayne Barnes has been to NZ everyone knows that a normal winning percentage is for NZ its 70 to 80+ % and sometimes higher: "Since Wayne Barnes refereed the 2007 loss to France, Barnes has refereed 11 All Blacks games involving IRE, FRA or AUS. NZ have lost 6 for a winning percentage of 45%. NZ has played Australia 50 times since sept 2007, losing only 6 times- Barnes has refereed half of those loses." Now that he's gone NZ's winning percentage per year will be up by atleast 10% so the rest of the world better look out. Barney wont be around to save you guys from here on out.

Ireland were pulling back on the scrums rotating them without going forward first also boring in. Those were plain as day penalties that Ireland fully deserved to receive. Those were not 50/50 calls. And frankly Ireland were kept in the game by other real 50/50 calls by barnes. The game shouldnt of been close if it was officiated properly the AB's were significantly better but everytime they were about to put Ireland away Barney saved Ireland. Barnes is a terrible ref for NZ he always shafts them. Going forward NZ's win loss percent per year will be way up just not having him ref their games. And for those that dont believe me a 2 second google brought this up: "Since Wayne Barnes refereed the 2007 loss to France, Barnes has refereed 11 All Blacks games involving IRE, FRA or AUS. The difference in these guys and our Players the Boks is we don't think we deserve anything. But his attitude it's like he was robbed. You will never be a champion with that type of attitude. Ireland need to humble themselves and just continue working hard. U must accept not every decision will go your way. Remember the maul in Ireland's 5 meter and the ball was available for BOKS but the ref blew the whistle. And we lost to Ireland.

The Boks would have beaten Ireland if Pollard was on the field. As regards attitude and humbleness I don't think you can say much, in fairness. Nobody complains more about referees than Razzy. And it's easier to be humble when big decisions more often go your way, as opposed to the opposite. South Africa have a history of decisions going their way against France in WCs for example. The big decisions went their way in all three ko games. And some South African commentary was absolutely ridiculous after the Munster Stormers URC final last year. I say that as someone who can't stand a lot of the Irish commentary too. The Irish players are as humble as those of any other team, Saffas included. The idea of them not being humble can only be a projection based on the no. 1 ranking they had, and the overconfidence of one or two annoying arrogant commentators who got under the skin of most Irish fans as much as anyone else.
