Good Morrow Bros! It is a triumphant return to Westeros for season 2 of House of The Dragon and we are so excited to be recapping it with youse. We've been wanting to branch out into some other content (while obviously still covering our Bravo shows) but this is our first foray into something different! In episode 1 it is the aftermath of Aemond killing Luceryus and it seems as though war is inevitable. Rhaenyra is mourning and has yet to return to Dragonstone. In King's Landing, Aegon is settling in as King and attempting to bring his son Jahearys into the fold to learn how to be King... But not before Helena tells him that she is afraid of the rats... On team Hightower, it seems like there is some tension. Between Aegon being incapable, Aemond being unpredictable, Otto and Alicent attempt to get on the same page. Lord Larys continues to slink about the castle and dig up the dirt as well as 'rid the castle' of any of those still loyal to Rhaenyra. Upon finding the wing of Luceryus' dragon as well as his cloak, Rhaenyra gets closure and returns to Dragonstone to utter one sentence, 'I want Aemond Targaryen'. Daemon takes it upon himself to avenge the family and goes to King's Landing and employs Blood and Cheese, a knight of the city watch and a rat catcher. Although they were sent to kill Aemond, it seems as though another target falls in their sites. One with a lot more repercussions. At this point between Team Green and Team Black it seems as though war is inevitable and this may be the final straw. BUT WHAT A GREAT PREMIER THIS SHOW IS INCREDIBLE! This was a fun recap! A few notes: The beginning of season 1 says “172 years before Daenerys Targaryen”. It’s speculated that Larys can shape shift into the form of a rat, we saw a rat roaming the kings bedroom a lot during season 1. Excited for this extra content!

I feel like my two worlds are colliding right now. BravBros talking about GoT/HotD makes me so happy. It's definitely in my top 3 shows of all time. My hubby got me into binging shows after the first few seasons of GoT came out & I'm not gonna lie...it was one of the reasons I knew I'd found my forever person 😊

OK, I kind of wanted to drag you guys for doing this show, just because it’s so outside of your Fanbase wheelhouse… But, it did get me to finally binge season one so I could listen with you guys. I can’t wait to go through the season with you! I love how thoughtful you guys are about the show. I am totally in with you guys! Great job, I can’t wait to see what’s next, and I am sorry for my impulse to drag you 😜 But… I really think it would be fun for you guys to do OC from season one and break down like three episodes per show. Honestly, that might get me to Patreon because I would love to hear what you guys think of that. I’m gonna keep mentioning it too!

So excited the Bros are diving into HOTD! So I know how the dance ends because I watched all the histories and lore before Fire & Blood or HOTD was even a thing but I’m so excited to see how they adapt it to the screen. No worries I’ll follow as suit and only comment/discuss as we go as to not spoil for anyone. The 1st episode was so well done in my opinion. All the scenes of mourning from Syrax and Rhaenyra (shout out to shooter on the knowledge btw, he’s on point!) and Luke’s funeral had me SOBBING. Though there were some differences from the book in the Blood and Cheese scene I still thought it came out very well. The stakes were still high, the suspense was still there for me. Some things definitely felt incomplete or missing to me just because I know how it was written; and there’s a history and lore video on KZfaq in case anyone doesn’t wanna actually read it lol but overall very very cool. I was impressed with the whole premier and its wild this is only the beginning.

I’m accustomed to listening to your Bravo commentaries. Unlike Shooter, though, I struggle keeping the House of Dragon characters and their names and faces straight with this new “fast forward” season. It’s a help to listen to familiar voices recap the new season-more of my brain can concentrate on HOD alone, versus having to adjust to unknown voices/personalities explain an unknown/new topic. On another note, every time Otto shows up, a flash appears in my mind’s eye of “Spike” in Notting Hill posing in his underwear for the paparazzi at Hugh Grant’s door…it takes a bit of the bite out of Otto’s bark…

One huge element Of this and you probably mention this already is that vagar is Such a gigantic dragon and as you can see by the many holes in his wings Is almost impossible to kill.

Dragged my feet a little on watching the hotd 1st episode of the 2nd season even though I was excited for it because I was not looking forward to darkly lit scene after scene with too low volume dialogue followed by blaring (because I have the volume turned up) sound effects. It adds to the exercise this show already is for me with all its twists & turns & characters I get all mixed up. Omgosh!!! I hope it continues the rest of the season & for all seasons to come with this excellent lighting scene after scene & well recorded dialogue! So much less work watching this 2nd season premiere!

Guys, if you hate Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans), go check him out in his roles in "Notting Hill," (an excellent bromance review choice), and "Enduring Love." He's so great, it's hard to believe it's the same actor.

from a PR/ Marketing perspective idk about the name change… I feel like maybe just have two accounts? one that focuses on all things Bravo (BravBros) & one that focuses on shows outside of Bravo (TheBros). Your brand of BravBros is very specific & successful w a very niche audience that won’t necessarily be interested in hearing about other shows so idk just feel like it’s two very different audiences to be under 1 name.

If Rhaenys had had burned everyone last year she'd be branded a kin-slayer and since she still believes they killed Laenor I don't think she owes Daemon or Rhaenra anything. Daemon was outta line putting blame for Luke on Rhaenys. I don't think its Alicent that's hung up about the eye situation but she knows as a mother that Aemond never fully moved on because he was mutilated and lives with that everyday. Viserys mishandled the event. Obviously asking for Luke's eye was crazy, Kids fight especially when there's a lot of grief and animosity mixed in, BUT when one loses an eye there needs to be more compassion and actual consequences, otherwise that resentment festers over years and we end up with Aemond running down Luke on Vahgar.

I just can’t watch most Bravo shows. I had never watched Vanderpump Rules and couldn’t sleep one night and The Valley was on and I watched it. I really liked the first episode. My problem with The Valley is how stupid all of them are. The only ones with any brains is Brittany and Michelle. Nia is ok but bless her heart her and Danny need to stay away from all the drama. Jax is such an ASS and hoping for Brittany to DIVORCE HIM!!!! My favorite character on GOT was Jaime. I hated the ending and had hoped Jaime would have lived hea with Brienne. I also wanted Cercai to have the most horrible death. I loved to hate her!!!!!!
