Montana's character is pretty similar to Vito Corleone's in The Godfather as well as Sweet from GTA San Andreas. Where all three are the leaders of their gangs and are the most moral in their situations in they all rejected getting involved in the narcotic buisness despite it being a lot of money because they know it'll ruin their own communities. And so somebody else, usually from within the gang itself, tries to assassinate them so that the gang will embrace the drugs with the old leader out of the way

If this movie is a spin off of the real "peg leg" , he would have never turned his back on the Latinos or the Whites..... Croatia/East Los.

Never understood what the significance was to Montana's question "You ever pick any grapes, Wallace?". They sort of play it out like its some kind of code word. Wallace's answer seems to calm Montana and its only after that he trades with him. Don't get it to this day.

@Nivicoman: Miklo and Magic didn't lack the action. Their views were different from Montana's. They wanted to run things around there and not be pushed they the blacks and whites. Montana wanted more peaceful solutions but La Onda was dying and falling apart mainly thanks to the AV'ers. Part 15 pretty much explains all of it especially at the beginning.
