I know that I’m late replying to this video. But dang girl! That’s a lot to go through, especially in one week! I’m so sorry that you had to deal with this. But I’m very grateful for your support system, and that you/your body powered through all of that. I also want to let you know that, it’s okay to cry and be emotional! Especially when you feel like you’re not in control, or if something changes. And if you need to take some time off of KZfaq/social media, that’s completely understandable. Know that if you need time to rebuild strength physically and emotionally, it’s okay to rest. We will all be here and cheering you on, whenever you feel ready to continue filming your journey. (And I’m not trying to put pressure on you when I ask/suggest this.) Maybe you can share what it’s like for you and your family on thanksgiving, and if you have any traditions. Sending love, strength, and support your way! -Gracie

Thank you so much for your kind words Gracie! It was definitely a lot to cope with physically and mentally all at once, I’m so appreciative of your love and support! And it is okay to cry! I try to keep my videos on the more upbeat side but life’s not always just smiling it comes w ups and downs which I try to showcase ❤️ and I’m already planning on vlogging today/first thanksgiving with Simon! I’m doing much better now and trying to get back on a more normal filming schedule as my energy allows ❤️ so much love to you!

Lindsay, I just came across your channel as this video was suggested to me by the algorithm. I have an incomplete spinal cord injury, EDS, gastroparesis, am hard of hearing and other issues. I have a port implanted in my chest for IV hydration and antibiotics as needed (I get frequent UTIs). I’ve had several PICC lines and ports get infected, so I unfortunately understand too much of this video. I am currently self task training a 2.5 year old black lab/Great Dane mix to help pull my manual wheelchair (my shoulders sometimes don’t enjoy going up inclines, even if they are very small), help me balance if I am walking/standing, assist me with fall recovery when I end up on the ground, and alert me to knocks on the door/kitchen timers, etc. I like the “watch me” command you gave Simon before putting his food down. I am going to start using that with Woody (my dog). I currently just have him sit, stay and then tell him OK (his release word). I like Simon’s harness/handle combo. I have a vest for Woody, but no handle and have been looking for a harness or vest with a stable handle bc Woody is a bit too short for me to properly use him for balance without one. Did your school provide that for you, or did you purchase it on your own. If your school provided it, do you know what brand it is so I can try to search for it? I have subscribed and will watch more of your videos. Hope you are doing a lot better now! Amanda

PS: Woody is a rescue, that’s why I am training him at age 2.5.

I just had sepsis too. I unfortunately ended up in the ICU because i wasn't aware of the symptoms of sepsis. It was hard and emotionally and scaring as hell. I had to wait two weeks before i could get a new line. They will help you. It will suck and it will be hard. Im here if you need support or advice. Praying for you.

Linsay, I know I’m a bit late, and I don’t know if this is going to help at all, but I have IBS & cyclical vomiting syndrome. I end up in the hospital a few times a year, some years more than others just to simply be hydrated & to get IV meds since I can’t take them by mouth at that time. I’ve never once been offered a picc line or at home hydration even though I have asked. I don’t know how to go about it, anyways, that’s a story for another time. My point beautiful, is that you are so strong, you have strength inside of you that you don’t even realize. My mom used to hold my hand as I’d sob every time I went, and then C happened and I had to incoherently do it on my own while having panic attacks. Now, I still do, however, I never in a million years thought I would survive losing my mom. It’s been almost two years and I’m still here, struggling a lot but I’m still fighting. My mom gives me strength everyday and I know she will do the same for you. I know it’s scary and hard and painful, I avoid the hospital and let myself get worse sometimes because of the fear, but we must remain strong. Take the amazing love from your family and let that make you stronger. My instagram is @anjkxix if you ever wanna talk, I’d absolutely love to. But my love, you are so strong and powerful and you will get through this and whatever else is thrown in your path and I believe in you. Please, keep being an amazing role model to me, working through all of this and keeping your positivity. Thank you for lifting me up and I hope that you get better soon and stay strong beautiful! It’s okay to cry, just remember how strong you really are!

As for the veins, I don’t know if you’d mind letting me know why my IV blows within 12-24 hours, I know you can’t just give out medical advice, but the IV is always painful, my veins always roll or if they get it in, it’ll roll. I’ve had to have ulatrasounds to get them in, blood draws are awful, my veins literally give me the worst anxiety of all and it’s awful because the only reason I need it at that time is because I can’t take anything by mouth and so I panic more. I have similar symptoms to you, fainting, dehydration, dizziness, nausea, etc, no seizures. I don’t know what to do. PLEASE!!! Take care of yourself first my dear, and I know I’m just a stranger but please let me know if there’s anything I can do, even just to listen. Thank you for being a bright light in my life. Feel better beautiful, sending love from NY! & loving the puppo 🥺, I have an American bully & absolutely love dogs.

And this is why TPN/ central lines are the last resort. In Australia you would be given a j tube. The risks of sepsis and death with central lines are severe. This is insanity! Unless you have intestinal failure, why in gods name did a doctor allow this.
@ChronicallyLindsay
@ChronicallyLindsay Жыл бұрын
They tried to place a J tube first and placement failed, they also placed a surgical g tube for draining and venting so I wasn’t throwing up as much. the picc and Tpn was our last resort and it was fine for almost 2 years/has been my treatment for 2 years now bc of my pots gp hEDS and seizures. we use my line for fluids seizure meds nausea meds Tpn, you need to remember that not everyone’s treatment plan is going to be the same & not everyone is going to have a bunch of options. I was severely malnourished it was effecting my organs and my seizure meds weren’t being effective cuz pills + gp doesn’t mix well/can’t break down and absorb the meds properly so we really didn’t have a choice it’s been so helpful for me and this was my first bad experience w it
