The US has admitted its defeat after two decades of imperialist war in Afghanistan. Why did the US stay in this war for 20 years? Who was profiting? And who is yelling the loudest right now about human rights in hopes of getting back those military contracts?
War veteran Mike Prysner, turned anti-imperialist activist, who is also producer for ‪@EmpireFiles‬ & co-host of the podcast Eyes Left, explains.

At Breakthrough News we believe in the power of independent media. Five mega-corporations dominate the media landscape - controlling 90% of what we read, watch and listen to. They control the news cycle, to which social media and even most “alternative” media is forced to respond. We are breaking through that cycle.
We tell the untold stories of resistance from poor and working-class communities - because out of these stories we will construct a different narrative of the world, as it is and in real time.
People’s movements in every corner of the globe are changing history and shifting consciousness. But these movements barely receive any coverage from the corporate media. They need visibility. They need amplification. They need a media arm to break through.
We can be that media arm, but only with your help. Become a Patron and join us on the front lines in the battle of ideas.

Yes I really applaud their efforts. Must be so difficult in the heart of US imperialism to be a teller of truth when all the inducements for such an obviously intelligent couple to just shut up and climb a corporate ladder are so blatantly profitable. Given their public exposure, they, as have many others, exiled themselves from that world. The baubles of capitalism never will be theirs to experience. Much respect to the both of them.

The analysis of the Afghan conflict in this video is great. I now understand why the Afghan army didn't put up any resistance to the Taliban. The Afghan army position implies that the war was imposed upon them and they were fighting the Taliban involuntarily. It's a lesson to learn from for any occupiers that would like to impose their ideology on other people. Another point I want to understand is who forced the US into negotiating with the Taliban to leave Afghanistan instead of the Afghan government. Did the US already lose the war militarily and they were finding a way to exit the country peacefully as we saw their departure? On no account the US should have negotiated with the Taliban if they had defeated the Taliban.

The US government's internal oversight office, SIGAR, admits, "all war-related costs for the U.S. efforts in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan over the last two decades are estimated to be $6.4 trillion." Most of that went into the pockets of private, for-profit contractors. ... We could have solved every problem in the world, including global warming for that kind of money. Think about that for a minute.

Is it just me because as soon as all this began I just thought to myself here comes the heroin. And lo and behold, we got the opioid crisis...Where was all that cheap heroin coming from? Just commerce doing what commerce will do… Anyone else out there have that thought as soon as the Afghan war began?
@gregolsen1489
@gregolsen1489 2 жыл бұрын
you're not that far off. This invasion was also about global opium poppy production control and American corporations and drug trafficking mafia profited over 2 trillion dollars from it. Now with the new invention of syntactic heroin in their own Pharmaceutical labs, corporations don’t need Afghanistan as much. Since United States military occupation of Afghanistan in 2001, followed by NATO occupation in 2003, opium production has increased exponentially. Areas under Taliban control had zero production in 2001 (Global Research, October 17, 2018). in 2001 there were only 8,000 hectares of poppy fields in the entire Afghanistan and by 2017 it expanded to 328,000 hectares. in 2001 Afghanistan was accounted for 3% of the world's opium supply and by 2020 this number jump to 93%. From now on, US will focus on manipulating Afghans with all that military ammunition that American troops left behind to destabilize China.
@SuperDflower
@SuperDflower 2 жыл бұрын
@@gregolsen1489 Wow!… That information alone about the number of hectares is astounding...Just another version of Iran Contra... always the same thing...state sponsored mafia. Sewing death and destruction with its citizens tax dollars, and most disturbingly, with its citizens consent...due to ignorance and the media it also controls and flimsy narratives about nationhood and patriotism. I PRAY that the younger generations are becoming that much more woke to all of this… But I fear, that with the stranglehold on the economy they’re able to assert, there will be people who see the military as their only option. Thank you for sharing this information, disturbing as it is, unsurprising as it is.

@@SuperDflower sadly, I agree with your assessment. The US has been at war 227 out of 245 years since her birth on 1776. America has lost its sense of reason, morality and credibility. No one talks about it but who and how did taliban get funded? Who paid for their weapons? How was it all smuggled in? So no one talks about that here which is more important than anything else. US has the best weapons systems and the best tracking system and satellites also drones. How did taliban evaded all that? In my opinion this is all staged and there is a background story for allowing Taliban to do what they did and we don't know what that story is yet.

Afghanistan is probably one of the most surveilled countries on the planet; satellite surveillance, all telecommunications are surveilled, all internet traffic is surveilled, human assets on the ground, feedback from bugging other countries diplomats in the region, the only thing they don't have is cameras everywhere - but due to the proliferation of smart phones that may not be significant anymore. So America definitely knew what was going to happen and what is happening now even though their presence is limited to the airport.
