I remember doing stuff like that back in the day, when those games were new. They didn't have updates back then so if there was an exploitable glitch it was there for good, unless you bought the "Game of the Year Edition" of a game and maybe they'd fix it. I spent hours trying to get outside the level in Half Life 2 on PS2 even if there was no real point to it. Stacking boxes and climbing over walls just to arrive at the other side of a level.
