Teofimo Lopez will defend his WBO and Ring Magazine titles against Jamaine Ortiz on Thursday, Feb. 8, at Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Lopez-Ortiz headlines an action-packed televised doubleheader that kicks off Big Game Weekend.
In the 10-round lightweight co-feature, U.S. Olympic silver medalist Keyshawn Davis faces Puerto Rican former two-division world champion Jose “Sniper” Pedraza.
Promoted by Top Rank, in association with Takeover Promotions and CES Boxing, tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 5 at 10 a.m. PT and can be purchased at AXS.com.

Carlos Monzon/Victor Emilio Galindez from Argentina 🇦🇷 Wilfredo Gomez/Tito Trinidad for Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 Roberto Duran for Panama 🇵🇦 Salvador Sanchez/Julio Cesar Chavez Sr for Mexico 🇲🇽 .. Even for Canelo who is among the best Boxers of our generation, it is very difficult to be among the Elite of Mexico ... Alexis Arguello/Chicolatito Gonzalez from Nicaragua 🇳🇮 .. I wish Teofimo Lopez all the best and i always will because we were born the same year ( 1997 ) are both Part Hispanic/Latin American ( even though it is a Cultural group ) but it is going to be extremely hard given the poor competition of nowadays Boxing 🥊 ....

Lopez would have to fight from Lightweight all the way up to Middleweight and find an all time 160lb such as Hagler .. Lopez can only do with what he has in front of him and the competition nowadays is lacking, poor compared to the Time those Legends were fighting .. it is almost not even the same sport anymore.

Against Sandor Martin he got dropped twice has nothing to do with his hand and struggled because sandor Martin fought off the back foot. Josh Taylor just came off of a robbery vs jack Catterall and took a 16 month layoff before fighting teo ofc he was going to dominate him. I remember meeting Ortiz in Providence, RI last year at Big Sixx Boxing Academy after he fought Loma. He sparred 7 rounds and he was very sharp. After he sparred, I kept asking him about the Lomachenko Camp and Loma's techniques. He always refused to give me details about their camp. I always respected that and he is a true fighter who is humble in victory and defeat. I am really looking forward to this fight.
