2:38 All the lyrics that I see online say this line is "I don't think I know myself without your HELP", but I hear "I don't think I know myself without your HELL", and it seems to fit the spirit of the song better. Especially given the next line is "Oh, I wonder why have I got a heaven deep inside of me".

she probably did want to write hell on the album track but the label might not have let her. she's a satanist, all gods we can touch songs are about her walking away from god and her relationship with the devil she did a track with sub urban, also satanist singing about drinking adrenochrome with entire albums dedicated to satan, hive mind lana del rey, grimes, imagine dragons, aurora, sub urban. they're all the same

I've always wondered if the song is based on the old Japanese story Crane's Return of a Favor. A man saves a crane, and the crane in return uses her feathers to help him.

Yeah that can makes more sense, but If we interpret this song, as being not only in love with toxic person, but addicted to toxic love too, the line "I hope that U'll come, 'cause I keep on loosing feathers" can mean that beside subject in the poem suffer because of the love one, he or she suffer without this person too

0:40 Is she singing to God? Religion is a dangerous thing. People give up their freedom to express who they are. They are forced to be transformed into chikdten of god which I don't mind. If you are willing to and that's what you want then you do you. No judging. Some of us tried and couldn't. We are told who to love and who not love. How to act, what to wear... We are taught that God is Love but he'll destroy those who he deems unworthy of his kingdom. He hates homosexual's life style. We can't be who we are cause of the things we are taught. In that sense I kept on losing feathers trying to reach god, losing my wings of freedom, and like icarus trying to reach the sun, my wings got weaker now I don't want to reach the unreachable. I want to be me and not be bound by the chains of religion. When I was doing god's preach work I could feel a warm brotherhood, but when I remembered who I was in reality I thought about how I can lose those bonds of friendship. That's the way I interpreted the song as a gay man that used to live the Christian life. I will just try to be the best person I can. Be kind to everyone, to yourself and do good deeds. If God thinks that I don't deserve his love, then so be it. I rather live the best life today and die, than going to Christian meetings, sinning, and getting shunned. Living that life destroys your mental health. Im talking from experience. I even attempted suicide cause I felt disgusting and like a dirty bubble gum everyone stepped over. I felt like waste. But I survived, tried again, and attempted a second time. I decided to quit religion cause I don't want to attempt a 3rd time. I just want to be happy being me. I thank AURORA for helping me through my darkest times. Her songs, Queendom, The River, Exist for Love, Cure for Me, Heathens, A Dangerous Thing have helped me cure my broken soul. She is like a breath of fresh air

@@jongu71 The reason I think like that is because all the bibles explicitely say that God's design was for humans to reproduce and fill in the earth. He said that a man and a woman would leave their parents to be together. Also in the new testament it says that men that sleep with men will not inherit his kingdom. Now I can say that God does not judge homosexuals, but that would be me calling him a liar seeing how the Holy Scriptures show his position on homosexuality. If the Bible is lying then there is no reason for me to believe any bible and the God I thought I worshipped is a lie. I can't say that he is Love cause what the Bible says, when the same Bible shows other sides of him. (Something about god is soft, warm, seducive. And something about him is cold, abusive, unforgiving) It contradicts itself. Does God show love to everyone, or just some people? I even asked a Catholic friend, and his response was that it was one of the many mysteries in the bible... so there is simply no answer to my questions. That is the reason Im leaving religion

Religions are almost always an expression of a collective ego. A stronger group that wants power over every other group and are willing to use violence to stay in power and to be part of the only true religion. Humans have that weakness and we all have to use awareness of that weakness to be able to use compassion instead. It doesn't have to be religion that the collective ego insanity uses to express itself. It can be racism, ideology, nationalism or some tradition that no longer makes sense. The source of the insanity is the ego. Stay away from ego and expand empathy instead. What God is I don't know, but I'm sure the way to God is compassion and empathy. Ego is the way to hell for sure.

Thank you for sharing your story and interpretation of this song. The lyrics in the bridge "I don't think I know myself, without your help" could refer to drinking. A seduction that turns out to be treacherous. So many possible interpretations, Aurora is a genius. As a side note: the Cajon looks like the most unergonomic music instrument to play!
