I have light curls and frizz. I tried different techniques of blow drying. I still haven't found the perfect method for myself, but have gotten better. I just wish hairstylists would show me how to blow my hair wavy. My hairstylist always straightens my hair, so asking him for tips doesn't work. I only dry the front and try to let the back dry naturally. Any suggestions?

I've never been able to do my hair well, I was never taught really either and my hair is too short now to do much with. Once I grow it out enough though, taking even just a blow drying class would be amazing. I wonder if something like that is offered where I live. I need help! lol

+Georgia Gaul Like she said you should dry the hair when the hair is wet with a hot dryer. It is hard work but you have to do it section by section. I should know. Hairdressers seem to be too lazy to do anything except straighten it.

She's right. That WILL burn the hair and create split ends and dryness. I always use just the warm setting and it gets dry quickly. I go by this...if it burns your skin, it'll burn your hair. dryness in the hair destroys body and bounce. I'm a Wen girl and using ONLY Wen and her techniques make my hair so amazing. I use a paddle brush to pre dry and then go to round brush on mids and ends when it's almost dry. Comes out salon quality every day!

Hi Danielle, if your hair is color treated and dry on the ends, then I would do a good trim. If your hair is in decent shape then you will see a difference after one use. Wen can be used as, shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, shave cream, body cleanser, detangler, body lotion, all in one bottle. Yes, you have to do cleanse, rinse and repeat because it does not lather. I've had people approach me, total strangers, exclaiming, YOUR HAIR IS BEAUTIFUL! One girl was following me in a parking lot, to a store and just looking, I turned around and was about to say, can I help you? When she said the above and asked me what I did or if I just left a salon. I was not in a good mood at the time and when this happened, I smiled and said, I'm a Wen girl! She said does it really work? I said you tell me! Anyway, it depends on the length of your hair. Short hair, six pumps first cleanse, six pumps, second. If hair is shoulder length, I would do eight and eight to make sure ends and mids are covered. Long hair, Ten crown, ten, mids, ten ends. I completely disagree with Ann Wright! Everyone sees these 'mistakes' and often want to help but people are so offensive these days. She didn't say anyone's names just the 'mistakes' she sees. I don't feel that she is being nasty in any way shape or form. The heat setting is a big thing, and a lot of people assume the hotter the better. I am a daughter of a hair stylist and I see a lot of mistakes as well. I have often tried to help people and they get offended. I feel you tube is a great place to find information and I also find her video quite helpful. I think it's unfortunate you are putting negativity into a quite helpful video. Lynn Shore I’m astounded! I usually toss the nozzle aside and put it back in the box. I manage my hair reasonably well and I do use a cool blast but now I’m going to try the nozzle. Hope I can find it! Thanks for this tip, Lynn.

@Lynn Shore I agree and I always use a nozzle. It directs the air flow better than without one and it protects the hair from the hot grills at the end of a blow dryer.

I went to cosmetology school, and we learned to set the hair, was to add some flexible hair spray, comb through and immediately put the cool shot on it! ... same with flat iron (If no curls)

I looove that trick with the clipped up bun while my hair is still warm!! It gives me perfect waves. My hair is already wavy and takes to curl easily though, maybe wouldn't work as well with straight hair.

Amber F I do this as well. At night when I do to bed I just pull my hair up as I would as if I were going to put it in a high pony then I twist it then I start at the bottom of this hair that I’ve twisted and make it into a bun on the top of my head and like a cinnamon bun would look then just tuck your ends in anywhere under your bun and just spray a little hair spray if you want. In the morning after brushing your teeth, makeup breakfast all that and take out and walla beautiful waves and they will all go in the direction you twisted it in the night before. Both directions looked great and this way your not drying your hair out and you can get away without washing it everyday! Try it it really works well with my very fine straight hair but a friend of mine who has black very frizzy dry type hair and she does this trick too, only puts product in her hair first like a smoothener like I would use a volumizer throughout ALL THE HAIR before brushing or just pulling it up before twisting into a bun at the top of your head. Lindsay Millward I have naturally wavy hair, but very frizzy. I’ve found that the more I touch and brush the more frizz. I let my hair air dry my hair with an anti frizz serum and leave in conditioner spray. Also when towel drying I twist and throw up. If you must use a towel blot don’t rub. But the more you touch the more frizz.

I had really back luck with diffusers but finally ponied up for an Elchim blowdryer. Their cocoon diffuser is amazing - my hair isn't dried out or frizzy. Nice curls in a pretty short amount of time.

Lindsay Millward I have very natural curly hair and for no frizz.. Well after I wash my hair I blot it with a T shirt and then wrap my hair up in the shirt for a few minutes then I put my hair serum/elixir in it and let it air dry and zero frizz !!! My hair is never frizzy by doing it this way! Hope this helps!
