I find this video lacking in some many ways that's it's mentally draining the vary life out of me.

Not that anyone will probably agree and likely not even remember but back in the 90s I used use wall power to test subwoofer durability any chance I got. Ive melted a few subs that way. Ill never forget the surprise from a polk audio DB10. Toughest speaker ive ever owned. That sub blew the breaker in the shop. Never fried. The cone wouldn't dent, the rubber surround was thick as a mud flap and the sub would play under water. It was unbelievable. Don't know why they stopped making them. Anyway, not my favorite subwoofer and by no means, the best. Just the toughest I've ever seen. I remember them being very expensive, power hungry and very average for output. Best in a sealed box with high power. For same money a person could get jlaudio w6 or eclipse 8800 series if you're serious.

omg thank you for the advice. I figured I'd give it a shot. This guy was selling a pair of Rockford P3D4 subs and a R-750D amp for $100. He said the subs weren't very loud, probably blown. But he said I could have the amp and sub box for $100 if I took the subs and dispose for him. So I bought everything. I get home and start taking the "blown" subs out of the box. and when I look at his wiring, I notice he has everything in series. So the amp was seeing a 16 ohm load. I rewired in parallel for a 1ohm load and Holy Shit !!! They pound. Like rattle my teeth and hurt my spleen. What a dumbass. I got exactly what I wanted for $100. Thank you again as I never thought of Craig's list.

Alot of people get so angry with these. Why bother? It's the filmer's budget. Besides. The subwoofers in this video (not counting the alpine type r 6x9 and the other tiny speaker). It's like a survival of the fittest. Just wish he had one of those $900 Ground Zero subwoofers in there like i have in my trunk. I'd love to see how long that lasts.

The reason why some lasted longer than other is because those ones were dual voice coil, making more resistance

Hey, It sounds like the voice coils might be rubbing. This happens when the cone isn't centred. This usually happens when the foam rings around the edge of the speaker cone degrade. Easily fixable for very cheap.
