Would you PLEASE do a video for black women's hair? I need your helllllllp! This was a great video as usual, though. Edit: Whoa! Some people ran with this comment in a direction that I did NOT expect. Most of you shared very helpful information about caring for my type of hair, and I appreciate that deeply. Others, however, criticized me for asking a white man for tips on black hair as if a professional of his caliber is incapable of possibly EVER understanding black hair. That's like saying male gynecologists can't possibly do their job well. I also love how you folks ASSUMED that he has absolutely no experience with black hair. You cannot possibly know that for sure. I follow MANY black women who talk in depth about how to care for my type of hair. I also like to entertain diverse opinions. I admire his expertise. I enjoy his videos. I would love to hear what he has to say specifically about my type of hair. The fact that so many of you went hardcore on the racial aspect is really disappointing. The "I need your helllp" part was just a joke, and I'm kind of astonished that some people took that as genuine whining on my part. Look past the surface sometimes. Geez. You're not REQUIRED to tear comments apart and find something wrong with them. If that's your way, fine, but that shit where you try to draw hard racial lines when it's unnecessary to do so is absurd. It's also kind of sad. That's the polar opposite of what we should strive for if we truly want to live in a country devoid of racism. Don't be part of the problem! Engage in some serious introspection immediately! I am also fully aware that most, if not all, of his guidance on haircare can be applied to any type of hair. That...was...not...the...point. I want to hear what he would say if his focus was specifically on black hair types. Perhaps he'd share nothing he hasn't already shared in other videos. Perhaps he'd share a TON of information that he's never shared before. I am curious. CURIOUS. That does not mean I am too dense to understand what's going on. The conclusions that people jump to based on comments never cease to amaze me. Can we please just allow grown a$$ people to be harmlessly curious if they want to be? Again, to those of you who were cool: Thank you! You mentioned some black creators I am unfamiliar with in addition to some I already follow. You were also generous with your advice. I love to see it, and I wish I saw more of THIS and much, much less unnecessarily critical negativity. One can dream, right?

My girl, take his recommended quiz and research the products . He divides it into 3 easy categories (fine, medium, or coarse) I have been complicating things all my life. After giving birth, my hair was a mess! due to neglect and shedding, I had no edges and my ends felt like they were made of air. I wasn't feeling or looking good at all. Then, i got the Pureology leave-in conditioner and Moroccan hair products designed for coarse hair. I started doing protective styles for 3-4 weeks at a time, making sure to oil my ends regularly. Now, all my edges are back, and even my husband is amazed at the transformation. (the baby is 1.5 years so that gives you an idea of the time) The best part? Simplifying my routine and getting rid of all those unnecessary products has saved me time and money. I'm incredibly grateful I found this channel. Nobody is paying me for this enthusiastic endorsement.

I started washing and treating my hair with the proper tools (and heat) and within a couple of months, I noticed change. Now, about 1.5 yrs in and my hair stylist is astonished by the growth and how shiny and healthy my hair is! I'm a tad *ahem* older, so I just thought long, pretty hair was a by-gone thing for me. You know, I started following your hair routine about 6 months ago after a pretty big chop 4 months prior ( it was waist length and I should never have cut it). I’m one of those lucky people where my hair grows forever and a day but I kept cutting it based on recommendations from people around me to “improve health” . I hit a break through about a month ago in my hair health and length and suddenly people all around are noticing and i, myself am astounded at the shine and length retention. Thank you SO MUCH for your help. My hair is a HUGE part of my feminine identity and I’ve wanted thigh length princess hair since I was about 3 years old. His points: To grow hair long, you need to keep it hydrated to prevent it from breaking. 1. Don’t trim for at least 6 months. Maintain it instead otherwise you go back to the same length. 2. Use a hair mask once a week to penetrate moisture to the inside part of your hair. 3. After towel drying washed hair, apply leave in conditioner all around to protect roots AND ends. 4. When hair is fully dry/ and after styling, add hair oil focusing on ends to prevent breakage. Roots are not needed. Repeat daily even if it’s not a wash day. 5. If you heat style, make sure to start this routine off with a 2 week break from heat first. Once you start again, make sure you are using heat protectant, as well as giving your hair a 3 day break between heat styling. Extra note: pick products you use based off of your hair type. He has a hair type quiz as well as a list of recommended products. For the leave in conditioner, he recommended a light water based one. For the oil, he likes olaplex bonding oil. It’s lightweight and lasts a while if you use it right.

The last 2 days I’ve binge watched this and many of your other videos. Realized my hair grew 2 inches since my last color in November (you’d never know it as the majority of it is broken off at about my chin) and these videos gave me hope for the first time in YEARS that my hair might actually be salvageable! I just dropped about $200 on your recommendations and I’m so excited to get started on this! Love the No-BS information you’ve given!! Thank you!!

I just had to leave a note for you. I saw you on Glam Girl Gabi, and at 72 years young, you have changed my knowledge of hair and hair care. Who’s says you can’t teach old dogs…etc🤪! I have now binged a bunch of your videos and am going shopping today for products you highly recommend. THANK YOU so much for your plain speaking, informative and funny videos. I am so excited to change the condition of my thin & thinning hair. Your explanation of “Is your hair growing” was a DUH… aha moment for me. I have learned more with you than in my decades of talking with stylists. Again, a heartfelt thank you and you have a convert and subscriber forever now. Take good care…we need you❤😊

Following the tips on how to properly wash my hair, how to treat my hair better and also what products to use after I do all my washing has completely changed the health of my hair. my hair is still pretty thin and I really hope it comes back but I am so so so thankful for this channel because my hair looks shiny and feels good again!!

In summer '22 I cut all my hair off to a super short pixie. It has been a journey for sure. Having to find new ways to pin, tuck, curl to make each phase of the growth not look wonky. Oh how many times I almost went in to cut it off again but I finally got it to short bob and then have grown from there. Your post made me realize how far I have come!

My hair was torched by a salon when I got my roots bleached, so it’s not always the ends that are the most damaged. My hair was destroyed. I followed these routines for a year and while she is still broken and damaged, my hair grew like a weed. I only got one tiny trim during this and the splits didn’t really “travel” like everyone says they do. They will eventually do damage, but when you wash once per week and avoid blow drying, it grows. Bleached my hair my entire life and she never grew well. Got my hair fried off and have more breakage than ever, yet this method allowed my worst hair ever to grow the longest and fastest. Density has improved. Love this no bs channel.

Cut my hair into a bob last March with crazy pregnancy hormones and almost instantly regretted it. I’ve been religiously following your advice this past (almost) year and my hair has never been healthier! Even with losing so much hair postpartum I didn’t give in to buying the pills, just listened to your advice, and now that bob from last year is armpit level! So excited to keep staying the course with your advice and see where my hair growth takes me now that I’m past the shedding phase postpartum. THANK YOU ❤

I found your channel about 6 months ago and started doing the leave in conditioner and oil like you suggested and it has made all the difference. One of my friends recently saw a picture from last year and commented about how much healthier my hair looks now. I can also see it’s about 2 inches longer than last year. This is the longest I have been able to keep my hair… so far. Thank you for the really great advice!

you just helped save my hair!! I had no idea about any of this.... I am so happy you're open about this. Mine is just at my waist line now and I noticed the dry and breaking. I was panicking because the length took 10 years to grow. I have no color or dye in my hair and I noticed a huge difference. my hair grows very fast but it makes sense now why it slows down. I'm losing length faster than growing. I hope I was able to catch it on time. it's extremely hard to maintain very long natural thick hair

I need to come on here and say: this channel is so legit, literally started watching maybe a week or two ago. Bought the pureology leave in spray and redken’s volume injection shampoo for my fine hair, which i THOUGHT was medium all my life?! used them both yesterday and woke up to my DREAM hair! usually, my roots would already be looking moist and gross. i’m so happy and impressed this channel gives you options that are already on the market, not trying to sell you their products. truly a satisfied youtube watcher 😂🎉

I know you hear this a lot (and it is definitely deserved) but seriously THANK YOU for showing us the holy trinity of hair care products. The way you lay things out and explain how each product does what, has truly helped my hair become healthier! I was already using a leave in conditioner and hair masks but the oil was the missing piece. My hair has already grown several inches in the past 3ish months, I would say it's unbelievable if I didn't see it happening with my own! For us fantasy color junkies, can you do a video on clenditioners? The is one product not a lot of people talk about but makes a huuuuuge difference in how long my color lasts. Seriously, thank you again! 🧡🧡🧡

I lost a significant amount of hair after covid as well, a friend's mother was having the same issue and informed me of the phenomenon, which I researched further later. My best friend's great grandmother had Scarlett fever as a child and a very high fever. Her hair turned white and remained such for her entire life, 93 years. Illnesses can do odd things to your hair! Mine has grown back luckily. I remember being very nervous everytime I brushed my hair for several months!

You've truly rescued my hair, thank you! The only lingering confusion I have pertains to the blow-dry cream and heat protectant spray. While I use both, I've noticed that my hair feels somewhat stiff compared to when I solely use the cream, resulting in a more bouncy feel. Since I typically only blow-dry my hair, I'm uncertain whether to continue using both products or stick the cream on it own.
